"You ready for tonight?" Cory asks.

"What's tonight?"

"The competition"

"On April first?"

"Yeah"

"Well that's unfortunate. You're singing with me."

"Thank you for informing me."

"Shut up. We haven't even picked out a song."

"Hmmm.... how about wiggle"

"Hmmm... how about no"

"A thousand years."

"The Christina Perry song?"

"Yes woman"

"Don't talk to a lady like that."

When class is over we head to the office to get the information sheet about the competition.

"Woah it says we have to sing two songs" I say.

"Why two?"

"I don't know"

"What else should we sing?" Cory asks.

"How about We are never getting back together?" I say as a joke.

Cory looks at me and rolls his eyes. "How about Radioactive?"

"Sure. But I hope you know the lyrics because I only know the chorus."

"That's fine."

When we get home we have to practice.

"You first" I say.

"Thank you I know."

"Go ahead."

"I'm waking up to ash and dust I-"

"Woah woah woah! what was that?"

"Di-did I do something wrong?"

"No. But that's the thing. You didn't do anything wrong."

"What?"

"I didn't know you were so good"

"Was that sarcasm? Because I'm confused."

"Cory, you're really good at this."

"Thanks"

When we're done practicing I want to take a nap. When I open my eyes I'm already at the school. I'm by myself. I walk into the gym to see Cory waiting for me.

"What took so long?" he says.

"I-I have no idea."

We start to sing our song and I am really scared. I look up for no reason and then a bucket of blue paint falls all over me.
