My dad lets me stay home with Cory and cope with what's been happening.
I go to lay down with him and he lets me. I decide that I'm not going to school until he is well enough also.
We called the cops and they said they knew exactly who he was but we just had to tell them where to find him.
Cory had to get stitches in his back. He has to keep them on for 2 weeks. His whipping marks will heal and completely disappear after a few weeks.
"I'll see you in a couple of days" my dad says to Jake and I.
"Where are you going?" I ask.
"I have to go see your uncle. Neither of you have met him though. Apparently he got arrested for near rape and abuse."
"Well then why are you going to bail him out?"
"I'm not. He wants to talk to me because I'm the only one he has left. Grandma died and he never got a wife."
"What's his name?''
"For some reason he wants to be called Billy Joe."
"Is his name Billy or Joe?"
"No. His name is Dario."
