Chapter 9 ● This lonely darkness ○

"Shh... Calum it's okay, I know you don't like him troubling you a lot of the time but we'll find a way to stop him" Ashton tells Calum. "How?" Calum asks he's still crying a bit. "I have no idea" Ashton replies. "There's no way to get rid of me" Darren says to Calum through his thoughts.

"Darren said it's impossible to get him out of my mind" Calum says. "Oh I don't believe that" Ashton replies. "Of course you don't" Calum responds. "This vampire guy's name is Darren?" Ashton asks Calum. Calum nods in reply. "Do you know what he looks like?" Ashton asks. "Nope I've never seen him" Calum replies.

"Ready for a little game?" Darren asks Calum. Calum ignores Darren again. Calum knows ignoring Darren will make Darren mad at him but he doesn't like Darren one bit. Darren uses his powers on Calum's mind and traps him in a dark thought.

Calum is alone here he doesn't know what he should do the place is almost pitch black all around him. Barely anything is visible to his eyes here. He tries to find some kind of way to escape. There's no windows, doors or anything here. He's trapped.

"Hello?" Calum asks hoping he would find someone there. Am I in a box? Calum thinks to himself. He stretches his arms around him but feels absolutely nothing. He tries to feel around his surroundings but still feels nothing. Okay I'm definitely not in a box, Where the hell am I? He thinks to himself again.

Darren loves seeing people confused it amuses him. He wonders why the hell these people need to know the answers to all their weird questions? And, how the hell their minds come up with them? Confusion confuses him.

How the fuck did I end up here? Calum thinks to himself. I was in my room with Ashton and then I somehow ended up here it's probably Darren's doing he continues to think to himself. He then begins to search for his phone; he quickly realises it's not with him. He sighs in annoyance.

Ashton sees Calum unconscious and tries to wake him up. He calls his name a few times, gently shakes him by his shoulders and literally almost every other thing you could do to wake someone up. Hovever Calum doesn't wake up. Ashton knows he didn't just fall asleep because he was talking to him about five minutes ago and he didn't even seem tired.

Ashton leaves Calum's room. He went to tell Michael and Luke that something randomly happened to Calum. He goes back to the living room. "Guys, he did something to Calum" Ashton tells them when sees them in the living room. "What?" Luke asks. "Calum's unconscious I tried to wake him up but he wouldn't wake up" Ashton replies. "Oh no! He could be hurt" Michael replies. "How the hell are we gonna help him?" Luke questions. "I have no idea" Ashton and Michael answer Luke's question in unison.

Calum looks around this dark place he still has no idea where the hell he is. He can't hear anyhing in this place it's way too silent. All of a sudden out of nowhere a shiny thing appears. The shiny thing moves towards Calum's left arm. This shiny thing just happens to be a pocket knife. The knife digs deep into the skin on Calum's arm scraping in different letters with blood dripping on the edges of each letter. Darren's puppy. The 'y' being scraped on Calum's wrist. Calum screams in pain while this is happening. Calum looks down at his arm. There's just enough light illuminating this place for him see the knife marks. "Darren's puppy?!" He reads aloud confused as to why the hell it's scraped into his skin.

Michael, Luke and Ashton go upstairs to Calum's room to check on him. They examine him. "Guys, I've found something" Michael says pointing at Calum's left arm. "Omg blood!" Luke says squeamishly. "Darren's puppy?" Ashton reads making it a question. "Darren? That's the vampire's name?" Michael asks. "Yeah that's the vampire's name" Ashton replies to Michael. "What does whoever did this to Cal mean by 'Darren's puppy'?" Luke asks. "Puppy as in a dog's young one? Puppy as in short for puppet? I don't know?" Ashton answers Luke confused.

Suddenly Calum is unable feel anything everything just becomes numb. The place becomes pitch black now and nothing in this place is visible to Calum. Calum can hardly breathe here. Calum's can't think about anything either. Is he dead? That's not possible he's just stuck in his own head.

"What do we do?" Michael asks. Ashton picks up one of Calum's hands to see if he could feel a pulse; he does. "He's still alive" Ashton says. "I guess we should just wait until he wakes up" Luke replies. "Let's stay here until he does then" Ashton responds. Luke and Michael nod.

"Oh, where did your thoughts and feelings go?" Darren asks Calum. Right now the place Calum's in is completely white he still can't feel anything or think about anything but he can hear, see and speak. "I hate you so much" Calum replies. "I know you do" Darren replies. "Since you can no longer think of the questions you want to ask I remember some of them" Darren says. "Yeah whatever" Calum replies.

"You're stuck in a place in your mind" Darren tells Calum. "Yeah cause you put me here" Calum replies. "Oh and that thing on your arm" Darren says making Calum look at both his arms noticing what Darren is talking about on his left arm. "It means that you're my pet but also my puppet" He replies. "Oh" is all Calum replies if he could still think he probably would have had a better reply.

Darren then gives Calum his thoughts and feelings back. "I'm never ever gonna be your pet or puppet" Calum tells Darren. "Well, you're gonna have to" Darren replies. "I don't have to do anything" Calum responds. "Why the fuck did you have to scape this into my arm anyways?" Calum adds a question gesturing to the knife marks. "That's just a reminder for you and your friends" Darren says. "Get me out of this place!" Calum shouts. "Ugh fine" Darren says.

Darren then gives Calum a shock with his powers which makes him unconscious. Calum screams as this happens before he faints as the pain of the shock is too much for him to handle. Now is not only Calum unconscious in his body, but he just happens to be unconscious in his mind too.
