Chapter 25 ● Darren's game ○

Daphne stopped the realisation that she might "accidentally" kill him finallly hitting her. She heals the scratches she made on his wrists with a simple healing spell. She then takes the bucket of blood and puts it away for safe keeping because it's such a valuable thing she doesn't want to lose.

Darren goes to Cade's house. He rings his doorbell. It takes a little while for Cade to get to the door. "Why are you here Dare?" Cade asks him as he opened the door. "I wanna discuss something" he replies. "Alright then, come in" he replies to Darren moving away from the entrance to the side of the door frame.

Calum wakes up he's no longer strapped to the chair and there are no longer bleeding scratches on his wrists. "Got what you needed?" He asks Daphne. "Yeah I guess" she replies. "Can I go now then?" He asks her. "Fine you may leave" she replies whilst doing a spell to reverse the lock on the door.

"What is it you wanna discuss?" Cade asks Darren. "Daphne" he replies. "Fine, but if we discuss Daphne we're discussing Calum too" he responds to him. Darren subdued for a moment. It takes a little while for him to speak again. "Alright fine" he responds back.

"Where's my phone?" Calum asks Daphne. "Here" she replies passing it to him. "Thanks" he responds. He turns it back on. He sees a missed call from Ashton. "Bye" he says to Daphne just before leaving her house. "Bye" she replies. He finally exits her house. He decides to call Ashton back. Ashton picks up almost immediately. "Hey Ash" he greets through the phone. "Cal! I was so worried about you, you okay?" Ashton replies to him and asks how he's doing. "You don't need to worry about me Ash, yeah I'm alright I guess" he responds. "Thank God, where are you?" He responds back. "I'm just wandering around the area around Daphne's house, I'm trying to figure out a way back home from here as she finally let me leave" he responds. "Alright, I'll see you when you get back" he tells him. "Yeah, see you soon" he replies and cuts the call.

"So, you know Daphne, she's spent a lot of time with Calum and I think she's up to something" Darren tells Cade. "Oh yeah, Daphne is always up to something brother" he replies to him. "I know, I wanna know what she's up to and I thought you might be able to help me figure it out" he responds. "On one condition, you tell me your plans that involve Calum" he negotiates with him. "It's a deal" he accepts the offer.

Calum finally figured out the way back to his house from Daphne's house. He walks back home from there. He digs his keys out of his pocket and opens his door. "Hey guys, I know I just returned but I'm really tired so I'm gonna rest I'll see you in the morning" he tells his friends. "That's understandable" Ashton replies. "Sleep well" both Michael and Luke say at the same time and laugh.

"What do you wanna know about Daphne?" Cade asks Darren. "Tell me, was she involved in making Valley human the first time I turned her?" He asks him a question in reply. "Yes she was actually she got me to do what she needed and I did it she said she would help me torture you in return" he replies. "Why is she taking Calum's blood?" He asks him. "It's for her potions" he replies. "Wait she stole his blood?!" He adds to a question his reply. "That's what he told me" he answers him. "That can't be good" he replies to him.

Calum goes to his room. He lies down on his bed. He tries to get some sleep but he can't stop thinking about the recent events. Why the hell did Daphne need so much of my blood? I know she said something about playing a game where she undos everything Darren does to me, but it doesn't make sense as to why she could have drained me of my blood if she didn't stop when she did. What's so precious about my blood anyways? I'm pretty sure my blood doesn't have magical healing powers or something. He thinks to himself. All this thinking is just gonna make my head hurt I should try to stop he continues thinking to himself. Eventually he manages to get to sleep.

"What does that mean?" Darren asks Cade. "It means that she might be a step closer to ruining your plans for him I that have no clue about" he replies to him. "Fine, I'll explain, so long as you promise not to share them with anyone" he replies. "I swear I won't" he replies. "So, I'm gonna make him like me since no one really understands me and I'm lonely and I know I tried something like this with Valley but it didn't work out. I have better ideas now than I did back then. I think it would have a better outcome than it did with Valley. He's really disobedient and doesn't listen to me but he will. I will turn him into another me" he explains to Cade.

"That's crazy, but I won't stand in your way, do what you want, I'll do my best to help if you want" Cade replies to Darren. "You'll help?" He asks Cade. "Yep, I've decided we should leave the past in the past, you're the only family I have left" he replies to Darren. "I guess there was no need for our feud and we can try to get along and leave the past behind us" he responds to Cade wrapping an arm around him. 

"Calum!" Cade shouts to him through his thoughts. "Ow! You just woke me up and made my head hurt" Calum replies. "Sorry, but I know why Darren's doing what he's doing to you" he replies. "Tell me later I'm tired Daphne stole almost all the blood in my body and I had to walk back from her place to mine and it made me exhausted" he responds to him. "Okay, I'll let you rest now, sleep well" he responds back. "Thank you" he replies.

Why is Cade trying helping me? I thought he was playing some kind of game too... is this part of his game? Should I trust him? Is he gonna make up some story about what Darren is planning to do to me? Calum thinks to himself. This is too much to deal with for now he continues to think to himself. Try and get some sleep Calum he concludes his thoughts to himself. He then falls asleep again.
