Calum goes to his room. He lies down on his bed. He has his eyes focused on the ceiling. So basically Darren wants to turn me into another version of himself. And according to Valley I can trust Cade. I really don't think it's a good idea to trust him though... I don't trust Valley either. I don't think she's gonna help me. He thinks to himself.
That asshole of a brother of mine. Honestly I don't really believe he actually wanted to make amends with me. Why would he try to kill Calum if he was on my side? Darren thinks to himself.
I had to push Cade away from me. I didn't want to die or worse become a vampire. That would suck. Calum thinks to himself. He seemed shocked when I pushed him away. I didn't want him to come after me again so I walked away from him as quick as I could he continues to think to himself.
"Calum!" Darren calls Calum through his thoughts. "Yeah Darren?" He answers. "Are you okay? Cade almost killed you, didn't he?" He replies his thought voice sounds a bit concerned. "I'm fine, I ran away from him before he could hurt me too much" he replies to Darren. "That's good" he responds. "Is it true that you're trying to turn me into another you?" He questions him. "Who told you that?" He answers a question in reply. "Cade, is it true though?" He answers and repeats the main part of his question. "That stupid coin!" He shouts annoyed. This makes Calum's head hurt but he doesn't complain. "Did you just call your brother a 'coin'?" He asks him. "Yeah I did you know how coins are double sided, that's what I mean" he replies. "Oh yeah" he responds to him.
Darren walks to Cade's house and knocks on his door. "Hey Dare, what's up?" He says opening his door and letting his brother in. "We need to talk" he replies you could hear the bitterness in his voice. "Okay" he responds. "Why the hell did you tell Calum about my plans?" He asks the bitterness still in his voice. "I mean he needs to know them, doesn't he?" He replies a tone of obviousness in his voice. "Why did you try to kill him?" He asks his elder brother annoyance in his tone of voice. "So the games would be over" he replies casually. "The games wouldn't be over idiot" he replies to him you could hear fury in his voice.
Calum goes downstairs. He can't keep what Cade had told him to himself much longer. He needs someone else's opinion too. Who better than his three best friends? He goes to the living room knowing they will all be there watching something on his television. "Hey guys" he greets the three of them. "Hi Cal, what's on your mind?" Luke greets back and asks him what he's thinking. "I found out some important information recently" he replies to him whilst taking a seat on his couch. "Ooh do tell" Michael replies. "Yep that's what I'm planning to do Mike" he responds. "Take your time" Ashton replies patiently.
"Yeah, cause when you found out the game you were playing with Valley wasn't going to work out the way you hoped it would you just moved on to play the game with Calum instead" Cade replies to Darren. "I don't want to discuss Valley with you" he responds to him. "Well I want to" he responds back. "You've been torturing Valley since she was ten" he adds to his response. "So?" He replies to him.
Calum subdues for a bit trying to think of the right words to explain it. After a little while he speaks again. "Apparently he's basically trying to turn me into another version of himself" he explains to them letting go of a breath he didn't realise he was holding. "He's... what?" Michael asks. "He's trying to turn Calum into another version of himself" Luke repeats what Calum had said previously to them as a reply to Michael. "That's so stupid" Ashton replies to Calum's explanation as to what's going on.
"Not only that" Cade tells Darren. "Please do not continue" he replies to his brother. "I will because I want to" he responds to him. "You turned her into a vampire" he adds to his list of horrible things Darren did to Valley. "She wanted to be a vampire" he replies to his elder brother. "She did not, but you made her want to be a vampire" he responds to him.
"Cade thinks I'm already like Darren" Calum tells his friends. "I don't know Darren very well but from what I've seen so far I don't think you're one bit like him" Ashton replies to him. "I don't think you're like him either" Luke replies. "Who cares if you're a bit like him or not? You'll always be you" Michael replies to Calum.
"I don't get you" Darren says to Cade. "Well, I don't get you either" he replies to Darren. "What do you mean by 'you made her want to be a vampire'?" He asks quoting him. "As in you took her to the darkest places of your thoughts while trapping her in her own mind. You changed her... made her less innocent... made her darker... made her lose a lot she wasn't ready to give up" he replies glaring at his brother to show him what he did wasn't the right thing to do. "That's not true" he replies back. "It is, I know how she was before your games and it's so different from who she is now" he replies.
"If I start acting different... promise me you all will stay away from me... I don't ever want to hurt you guys... I know I've said something like this in the past but I'm saying it again... just please promise you'll leave me alone" Calum tells them. "Promise" the three of them say together Ashton being a bit more hesitant than the rest of them. Calum notices Ashton's hesitation. "What's wrong?" He asks Ashton.
"That's just her growing into who she wants to become" Darren tells Cade. "No this is your influence on her" he replies to him. "You don't know what you're talking about" he responds to him. "I don't know what I'm talking about? More like you don't" he responds back. "Why do you have to bring up the past?" He asks Cade. "Cause I can clearly see the past having an impact on the present" he replies to him.
"I don't want to have to lose another of my friends because of Darren" Ashton accidentally blurts. "Wait what?!" Calum asks confused by what Ashton just said.
