Alice vs Asuna - chapter 6

"No, he didn't." was a voice that belonged to my loving girlfriend,  the voice belonged to a person that I truly loved and cherished. 

I'm nothing without Asuna, she brings out the best in me. I'd be nothing without her.    

This was a voice that was telling my sister that Alice was trying to kiss me.

This was a voice telling me that I've hurt them and that they are crying because of me.

I knew the damage Alice had done.

I can't help but think maybe Alice had jealousy written on her agenda.  Maybe she was wanted this to happen because I know she has feelings for me... could she have done this to drive away Asuna from me? So that Alice and I could be together? So that no one else is in the picture and she could have me all to herself?

Asuna didn't have to say a thing because I knew the damage that was done.

I stood up also. I stood in one position as Alice decided to speak yet again.

"Mother said the food is getting cold."

A strained, loud and hurt yell is let out by Asuna. 

That was it.

Asuna cracked.

I jump back as I hear the yell. So does my sister.

"Shut up!"

Both my sister's and myself's eyes widen. 

Asuna is not known to be an angry person. 
Asuna is kind and gentle when she wants to be, but to say that? 

This was not the Asuna I know, but who could blame her? After what had happened... I think I would punch myself in the face if I was in her position of the misunderstanding.

"A-Asuna?" I finally find myself saying.

Alice blinks a few times, processing Asuna's reaction and the word she had used.

"Excuse me, Asuna?"

"I said...shut up."

And so, it began.

"Why should I shut up?"

Asuna's teeth clench.

"Because-

"Because of my attempt to kiss Kirito?"

Asuna looks to the floor as her fist clenches.

"Not just that."

"Then what else have I done?"

"Addressing Kirito's mother as 'mother' as if you were inlaws with her..." Asuna says coldly and in a serious and angered voice.

"I see no issue in the way I address her as, even if she has asked me to address her in a more formal way."

"You see no issue?"

" You do not have the authority to tell me what to do."

Suguha scowls at Alice and looks at her. 

 "Yet,  I do, even if you ignore the orders I give you since you listen to my brother's orders and live in the same house as us, then you are obliged to follow MY orders too, is that understood?" Suguha replies, coldly.

Alice takes another bow.  " Yes, that is understood."

Suguha continues.

" I will not have you talk to Asuna in this way,  I will not even have you  address  my mother in such an informal way.'

"Is that understood?"

Alice bows in understanding, yet she speaks up anyway.

Godahm it, Alice

"Why can I not call Kazuto's mother as my own?"

Suguha opens her mouth to give Alice a piece of her mind but is interrupted by-

Asuna?!

"Because....you're not his wife!" 

I flinch as Asuna yells with tears in her eyes.

I feel my teeth clench.

"I'm more of a wife then you ever were," Alice replies, brushing off her skirt as if she had no care for hurting Asuna. 

Asuna continues.

"I love Kirito! I look after him, I protect him, I spend every waking moment of my life with him, even back in SAO, I looked after him and even cooked for him! He's my everything, we even have our own daughter as you know, so sorry to burst your cybernetic bubble, but I love him with all my heart! You may have been the one to nurse him back to health for 2 years... that's nothing compared to what I have with him!"

Asuna starts sobbing, she turns to me.

"A-Asuna I-

"Y-you...swore your life to me..."

My eyes widen at Asuna's comments.

My whole body tenses as our eyes meet.

"A-Asuna..."

She's my wife.

It makes sense that only she can address my mother as an inlaw.

Alice should have never done so in the first place.

Alice should have never done many things.
