Asuna's magic carpet ride | Part 11

The next time I opened my eyes, I notice a familiar ceiling design with golden details. I groan while sitting upright and rub my eyes before helping Eugeo fix his fez. 

While blinking multiple times and contemplating where I was, my eyes widen when I realize where I was.

"Eugeo, this ceiling...are we?-

I hear the sound of a low voice yelling, then quickly get on my feet, to look over a balcony and see...

a royal guard!

I gasp and turn to Eugeo.

"Eugeo, we're back in the palace!"

While Eugeo celebrates with a cheer and perches himself on my shoulder, I shush him.

"Shhh Eugeo, we can't celebrate just yet, now we just gotta find Asuna and stop Agil from taking over Tokrabah."

I share a nod with Eugeo then smile while looking at the lamp before hiding the lamp underneath my vest in one of my pockets and Eugeo himself in another pocket in my vest.

"Thanks, Klein."

"Eugeo, let's go stop a wedding!"

I creep out of the room I was in silently, quietly tiptoeing my way round to try and find which room Asuna was in. I do this cautiously, trying my best to not get caught under any circumstances.

I make my way to the direction where most guards were standing at and creep through the guards by asking Eugeo to cause a distraction by jittering in front of the guards and fleeing, which made them all run after him.

This made it easy for me to swoop by them and enter the room.

While pressing my ear to the door to hear where the guards would be standing from inside the room, I hear someone, I'm guessing the priest, ask Asuna if she wants to marry Agil for better and worse till death do them part.

I clench my teeth as I hear this, my heart sinks.

"Asuna, no." I murmur under my breath.

I hear Agil then yell and growl at Asuna when she yells at Agil.

"Princess, we're waiting for your 'I do', unless you wish for me to make your father suffer like last time with Kazuto, but worse!"

"So, do you take me to be your husband?!"

"I do not!"

As soon as I race to open the door and rush in, instead Asuna opens the door suddenly at the same time and rushes out the door and tumbles into my arms.

I catch the princess without hesitation, looking at her with widened eyes, she does the same as we both stare at each other in silence and confusion for about a good minute or so, as Asuna had locked the door from behind, stopping the guards from coming after her.

"P-princess?"

"K-Kazuto?"

"We both end up smiling at one another and talking in sync.

"What are you?- I'm...you're-"

I then heard a strong thud come from the door, then an echoing growl from Agil.

"You WILL marry me, Princess!"

As another strong thud caused the princess to fall into my arms, I take her hand in mine instantly, as we both yell at the same time.

"Run!"

The princess and I ran down the corridors, once reaching a dead end, the princess looks at me in worry.

"We're trapped!"

"Not for long, Princess!" 

Realizing a balcony was the only exit route to leaving the castle, I whistle as a command for my magic carpet to appear, which it does on cue.

"I have an idea!"

After jumping onto the carpet, I reach my hand towards the princess in a hurry.

"Do you trust me?"

The princess wastes no time in grabbing my hand and smiling in return.

"Always!"

I smile back as I hold her close by her waist to support her onto the carpet. 

"Hold on princess!"

The princess grabs tightly onto my arm as the carpet picks up speed.

The carpet whooshes away from the balcony, over the courtyards and continues onwards beyond the palace doors.

Over on one of the floors of the palace, Agil spots the princess on the carpet with me and growls.

"Arghh Kazuto's alive?!...go attack him, my loyal bird, and get me that lamp!"

Suddenly from behind us, a massive dragon bird hybrid appears before us, in mid-flight, as it starts to chase us both through the markets of Tokrabah.

Without even a warning, the dragon bird swoops down and takes the lamp from Eugeo's grasp.

"Eugeo, the lamp!"
