I lie on the bed, staring at the stars through my ceiling. I scratched my hair in stress before sitting upwards.
I have to fix things with Asuna.
I still want to explain everything to her, even if she hates me for all I've done.
I get off my bed and walk down the hallway of the palace to princess Asuna's room.
I stand by the door, hesitant to knock.
I take a few deep breaths while reflecting on the lies I told and how they spiraled out of control. With my heart practically pumping out of my chest, I knock on the door.
There's no answer.
I wait a few minutes before knocking again.
There's still no answer.
I look around to see where the princess could be because my guess was that she wasn't in her room at that moment.
Where could the princess be?
Over the corner of my eye, I notice the princess sitting in the courtyard, near the fountain.
This was my chance, to apologize again and make things right.
I love her...I need to make this right.
She needs to know that.

As I nervously aproach the princess, ready to apologise with all my heart, planning to practically beg on my knees for her to take me back, to my surpise, the princess runs into my arms the minute she notices me.
"Prince Kazu, where were you?... I missed you..."
As the princess pulls apart from our sudden hug, she looks at me, smiling.
I look at her in shock, confused by her sudden change of heart.
"P-Princess?..does this mean that you forgive me?" I ask, in a quiet and nervous voice.
"Forgive you for...skipping out on dinner? Sure father was slightly annoyed but there's no crime in doing so."
She caresses my cheek and wraps her arms around my neck while speaking to me in a loving and soft tone.
As I look into her deep hazel eyes and hold her close, I feel my heart clench.
Do I really deserve her affection after lying to her for so long?
"We're having yet another dinner later in your honor, care to join father and I to make up for you missing tonight's dinner?"
I clear my throat and nod slowly, trying to understand that the princess forgot I told her the truth about me being a street rat from before when I made her cry.
She hugs me once more, before taking my hand in hers and faces me.
"I'm glad I met you, Prince Kazu."
"Princess..."
Before I could open my mouth to say anything else, the princess places a finger over my lips to stop me from doing so and shakes her head while smiling.
"I'll see you tonight at dinner, try not to be late...father does not like to be kept waiting."
I give her a confident nod and grin. "Me, keep a princess waiting?"
She blows me a kiss as she walks off, leaving me alone in the courtyard.
I hurry back to my room, only to be greeted by Klein grinning at me while lying on my carpet.
