Asuna's expecting | chapter three

"Mother, I think that I'm... pregnant."

Suguha, playing the mother's roll in character, lets out a fake, over-exaggerated gasp.

"Y-you're w-what?!" 

"M-Mother, nothing's been finalized...please calm down...I-I still have to go to the doctors to check if I'm actually pregnant though.."

"Well, aren't  you going to say bye to your poor mother?" Rika yells from across the room.

Asuna looks at Rika confused.

"But the girl didn't leave for the check-up, she simply just mentioned it."

"Stil though, just out of politeness?"

"You got it,  assistant-president!" Asuna says, winking. 

Rika growls in annoyance at the mention of 'assistant-president' since she knew that the real president was Kazuto, yet Rika longed to be his vice-president of the club. 

Kazuto on the other hand, made Asuna his vice-president, as he believed her to be the most reliable and responsible out of the group of girls, which she was, due to her mature upbringing.

"Mother, I have to go for my check-up, goodbye?" Asuna replies to Suguha, slightly unsure of how the roleplay turned out. 

"That's the spirit!" Rika yells once again from the other side of the room.

Asuna gets up from her seat and takes a bow, still rather confused about Rika's order for the last line and how she ended the roleplay like that. 

"End scene?"

Rika, Keiko, Asada, and Suguha all applause Asuna's performance, then Suguha's performance.

"Ah Suguha, I hope that helped somehow, I-I should really go find Kirito..."

"O-of course, thank you for all your help Asuna, this will surely help me with my essay, right Rika?" Suguha replies as Rika walks over to them both.

"She's right, thank you so much for the help Asuna!"

"As I said, girls, I'm always happy to help!" Asuna replies happily as she walks out of the room.

"Well, that was one hell of a show.," Asada adds.

Rika grins while motioning the girls to gather around her to listen to the recordings.

"We did it, girls!"

Suguha coughs, annoyed from being unrecognized.

"I-I meant, thanks to Suguha, we managed to get the recordings we needed!" Rika says, patting Suguha's head in the process.

"Now what?" Keiko asks.

"Well, its time for phase two of my brilliant prank!"

The girls look at Rika in annoyance.

"I-I meant o-our brilliant prank!"

They all nod in unison.

Asada raises an eyebrow yet again.

"Which is?"

"Time to edit the voice clips into realistically sounding, plausible dialogue, duh!" Rika replies, with the excitement of her genius prank that was slowly coming together piece by piece.

"I-I want no part in this!" Suguha replies, refusing to prank her beloved brother. 

Rika smirks at her reply while uploading the audio files onto an editor on one of the computers around the room. "Suguha, hate to break it to ya, you're the one who played the part of helping us start this prank, remember?...you literally did that ten minutes ago." 

Suguha blinks while taking in the reply, realizing what she had started, facepalms onto the table in disbelief and panic. "No, what have I done? Kazuto's going to hate me now!"

"Relax, will you? it's just a harmless prank, what's the worst that could happen?" Rika states while putting the audio clips together to form her message. 

Keiko and Asada turn to one another, Keiko sighs nervously. 

"Asada senpai is it really just a harmless prank?... I don't want Kazuto to hate me." 

Asada sighs, patting Keiko's head to calm her nerves. "Who knows?...all we can do from here on out, is see how this plays out, from behind the scenes, we weren't involved, alright?" 

Keiko nods in understanding. "Still, I'm worried Rika doesn't know the stakes of the prank." She turns her direction to Rika, who was busy editing the sound clips. 

 Secretly, Rika had no idea what the stakes would be like for this prank, 'harmless' was what she thought it would be, but oh boy, Rika was wrong. 

Slowly yet surely, Rika had somehow managed to hack into Asuna's phone using a hacking software Kazuto had made as a present to his old-time friend Klein, whenever Klein needed to use the online world for his own personal, rather intimate reasons, so no one could track his searches, making it easier for Klein to access and hack into many illegal R-rated websites. 

Rika was way in over her head, hacking her best friend's phone using the club president's own software program. 

What Asuna had forgotten on the table beside the girls, was her phone. Instead of returning the phone back to Asuna like a good, trustworthy best friend would be expected to do out of the kindness of their hearts, instead, Rika decided the best way to get Kazuto to believe the audio files was genuinely Asuna leaving him shocking news, was to call him at night and play the audio then, to make it think Asuna was the one calling him, telling him she's pregnant. 

Rika had it all figured out. 

She had given Asuna an exact replica of her phone, using a 3D printer and more of Kazuto's tech he developed. 

The prank was on. Rika was ready. 

The other girls, on the other hand, decided to watch how it all plays out and no longer partake in the prank, fearing for their lives from Asuna's death stares.
