Returning to R.A.T.H | Kirito's accidental virtual waifu | part 5

250 kilometers away from Tokyo, in R.A.T.H.'s headquarters upon the Ocean Turtle was where Seijirou Kikuoka was sitting. He looks towards his left and notices a light blinking. Realizing what that light indicated, he pushes up his glasses from the bottom of his nose and smirks. 

After a few seconds, a buzzer goes off. 

Every employee in the room lets out a gasp, realizing what it meant. 

"Kikuoka, you gotta see this!" Higa Takeru yells as he swings his chair beside where Kikuoka was sitting and presses a few buttons on the control panel in front of them both. 

The widescreen screen above them both changes view from a few graph readings from research to showing a chart with vital and brainwave readings below a picture of a figure of a girl, labeled 'Project Miki'. 

"It's incredible! As I was scanning for any vital fragments of any AI from Project Alicization, these readings came up from out of nowhere! Just look at how active the brain wave patterns are and how straight her vitals are flowing!"

Kikuoka looks at the screen with widened eyes. 

After all these years of failed attempts, his work has finally paid off...his dedication had finally paid off...

He finally did the impossible. 

He had brought back his daughter's conscience from the dead.

Kikuoka rests his hand on Higa's shoulder.

"She's finally awake."

Higa nods slowly, slightly in shock. 

"You actually did it...I'm not sure how you did it, but you did."

"No, Higa...I won't take all the credit this time...we did it."

"Kikuoka...look, I'm just Chief Developer of the Soul Translator, you're the one who did this....you owe it to yourself."

He holds out his hand for Kikuoka to shake.

"Congratulations, Kikuoka..."

Kikuoka takes his hand and nods.

"Thank you."

They both face the screen and look at the charts.

"Her vitals seem to be flowing as they should, hmm, the only thing I'm concerned about is this reading here," Higa says as he points out a reading of a red bar being over 165%.

Kikuoka suddenly gasps as he realizes this. 

"What is that reading!?"

"Her emotional levels...they're not stable and if they go any higher...then-"

"Then it could compromise with the transfer of her consciousness...," Kikuoka says while looking defeated.

Higa nods slowly as he helps Kikuoka sit back down. 

"NO! Dahm it, we've come this far!" 

He bangs his fist near the control panel. 

Higa and the rest of the employees flinch at this.

"Higa, there has to be something we can do to calm her down, ANYTHING!"

As Kikuoka grabs onto Higa's shoulder tightly, Higa, seeing the tears forming in Kikuoka's eyes and raw emotion, which he's never seen before from Kikuoka, lifts Kikouka's hand off his shoulder softly and nods firmly at him with determination. 

Without anything needing to be said, Higa starts looking into ways to control the emotional levels that were on the chart. 

"Higa, do what you must to calm her down."
