SAO drabbles ~

The return of Johnny Black | part three

Kazuto continues embracing Asuna softly while standing in her living room. 

He looks at Asuna.

"I'll make sure to catch this guy, Asuna."

"I know you will, Kirit-"

Out of nowhere, Asuna hears something smash through her window and pushes Kazuto out of the way. 

"Kirito, behind you!" 

"!!!" 

Kazuto slowly opens his eyes and looks up at Asuna who was breathing heavily beside him and was nearly in tears. 

Her eyes were filled with worry. 

"Kirito, are you alright? Kirito!"

Kazuto gets up slowly off the floor and kneels down to Asuna, lightly touching her head to check for any injuries. 

"I'm alright, are you hurt?!" 

Asuna shakes her head. 

Kazuto sighs in relief.

"What...was that?" 

Kazuto looks behind him and notices the smashed window and a large stone lying beside him. 

"What the hell?...a stone?" 

Asuna suddenly notices blood dripping down Kazuto's arm and points to it, her finger trembling. 

"K-Kirito!"

"Huh?"

Kazuto looks down at his arm and sees a deep scratch, with drops of blood running down it. Seeing as Asuna was already on the verge of tears, to not panic her further, he decides to brush off the pain and pretend it didn't hurt.

Although, it did hurt, a lot. 

"It's just a scratch Asuna," he says while smiling at her. 

Before Kazuto could say anything else, Asuna had already sprinted over to her kitchen to grab a tissue and kneels down beside Kazuto.

"You're hurt, Kirito..." 

Kazuto watches as Asuna wipes the blood off his arm with the tissue. He clenches his teeth and lets out a quiet yelp as Asuna uses some disinfectant on the scratch.

"S-sorry!"

Asuna continue softly dabbing the disinfectant on his scratch. 

"Kirito...do you think the person who threw the stone..."

"Was the bastard player who stabbed you in-game, threatened you with notes and now tried to kill you in your own home?

Asuna nods slowly as Kazuto clenches his teeth in anger. 

"I swear I'll kill him, now it's personal...let's get out of here, Asuna." 

As Kazuto takes her hand, Asuna looks at him.

"If the attack came from outside, Kirito, what if they're waiting to attack us from outside?...what if someone follows us?!"

Kazuto's eyes widen in realization, realizing he and Asuna were cornered. 

"You're right..." 

"What should we do?"

"Don't worry, my bike's outside, stay close, Asuna." 

Asuna nods and grips tightly on his hand. 

"It'll be okay, I promise I'll protect you." 

Kazuto makes his way to Asuna's front door to check if anyone was watching them, he kicks open the door and dives into the nearest bush with Asuna, waiting till they both knew the coast was clear to get to where he parked his bike.

From within the bushes, Asuna sees someone near Kazuto's bike, attempting to hotwire the controls. 

She wastes no time in warning Kazuto. 

"K-Kirito, look!"

Kazuto's eyes widen in realization. 

"You gotta be kidding me!"

The figure suddenly turns to the direction of the bush.

"Kirito, I think they heard you!" 

"Crap, let's make a run for it..." 

Asuna nods and follows Kazuto as he signals for her to come out of the bushes. 

"Asuna, let's go!"

"Right!"

Kazuto takes Asuna's hand and starts running in the direction of his bike, when suddenly out of nowhere, a stone is thrown at Asuna, landing on her head. 

Kazuto watches in horror as Asuna's body falls to the floor with a heavy thud, as she lays in her own puddle of blood. 

"Asuna!!!"
