The extent of Asuna's love ~ chapter 2

I sat in the cafe on a call with my friend Rika.

"Hey, Kazuto?"

"What's up, Liz?" I say while sipping from my fresh coffee cup.

Rika sighs, in over exaggeration. "Aww Cmon, do I really need a reason to call you?"

I roll my eyes and sigh in annoyance.

"Seriously?"

She laughs.

"You should check on Asuna y'know."

I cough from slightly choking on my coffee.

I put down the cup.

"Check on Asuna?"

"Yeah, why is that so weird for you?"

"I-It's not!...but, it's not like you to ask me that...did something happen to Asuna?"

"Kazuto, calm down, It's just earlier she seemed..."

"...she seemed what?"

"..."

"Liz?"

"She seemed sad, alright?"

I softly gasp.

"Asuna... was sad?"

"We're not sure, Suguha, Asada and I are planning on going to visit her later, you wanna come?"

"Obviously I'll come, lemme just finish my coffee first, I'll even grab some lunch on the way if you want, but you're paying me back after, alright?" 

"Awww why do I have to pay?"

"You owe me from last week, remember?" I reply, smug like and smirking. 

Rika's tone of voice changes, sounding more concerned and worried.

"Kazuto..."

"Yeah?"

"Asuna's not really answering any of our calls, so we figured she might answer if you call her."

"R-Right, I'll do that now."

"Thanks."

"Liz, thanks for letting me know that Asuna feels sad."

"Of course, but your boyfriend senses should have gone off!"

"M-my what?"

"Yknow, feelings you get when your girlfriend is in need of something, like love or wanting you to open a jar or something..."

"Uh huh, well I'm gonna call Asuna now, so-

"Mhm, let me know how she is after!"

"Will do, see ya."

I hang up the call with Rika when suddenly my phone rings again.

This time, it was Asuna calling me.

"Hey Asu-

I hear a shakey and out of breath voice. I tense in my seat.

"K-K-"

"A-Asuna?"

I hear the sound of people chatting and sirens going off in the distance on the phone.

Was she at a hospital?

I could barely make out anything she was saying. She spoke weakly, her breath was trembling.

I felt my whole body tense.

"A-Asuna?! A-Are you okay?!"

I hear her breathing heavily on the phone.

"h-help..."

I hear a loud thud and the sound of footsteps running to her direction.

My heart sinks.

did Asuna...just faint?

Why was she at the hospital?

I yell out her name, people in the cafe look at me but I'm already running to my motorbike at this point.

1000 ideas and scenarios we're going through my head especially dark thoughts. While speeding down the highway, I shook off those thoughts.

Asuna's fainted in a hospital.

She's probably surrounded by doctors by now.

She sounded like she was afraid of something while I was talking to her on the phone, the worst thing was that I wasn't there with her.

Asuna, I'm on my way.
