SAO drabbles ~

The return of Johnny Black | part one

Alone Kazuto Kirigaya sat in his cabin, for what would have seemed to be an eternity, casually scrolling through his inventory, checking the stats on each of his weapons.

What else could he do? His daughter was fast asleep in her room while his girlfriend / in-game wife was making her way back from the in-game shops she visited with her other friends.

Kazuto sighed as his eyes glanced at the stats over an old weapon of his that he'd rather forget he ever owned it.

"64XP huh?, how did I even manage to stay alive while using this?"

While Kazuto holds up a wooden sword in his arms and chuckles to himself, he's startled by a sudden blue glow that appears before his eyes in the corner of the room.

Kazuto places his sword back in his inventory while smiling, knowing that the blue glow meant Asuna was finally online.

"Asuna."

A pale figure emerges from the glow, smiling at Kazuto.

"Hey, you."

Asuna sits besides Kazuto on the sofa and leans back while shutting her eyes, sighing softly.

Kazuto raises an eyebrow.

"Busy day shopping?"

"You wouldn't believe the size of the queues, Kirito!"

Kazuto blinks in suprise.

"Really?"

"Mhm, practically every player in Alfheim  was lining up for the newest, ultra rare  sword that was released with the newest DLC pack available, which you can get while on the latest quest!"

Kazuto's eyes light up in excitement.

"Wait, you're serious?!...there's a new quest item!?"

Asuna smiles smugly at him.

"And here I thought you were always ahead of others when it came to the newest quest updates..."

Kazuto crosses his arms as his eyes dart away from Asuna's eyes.

"A-always is a strong word..."

Asuna softly laughs at Kazuto's reaction while he blushes slightly.

"A-anyways, Asuna, about the newest quest item-"

"The sword?"

"Yeah...has anyone got it yet?" Kazuto asks, slightly nervously.

"Hmm...why do you ask?"

"W-what do you mean why, Asuna?" Kazuto asks, almost surprised by Asuna asking him such a question after how long they've been together for.

If anything, Asuna should know the answer.

Kazuto chuckles lightly under his breath and looks downwards at the floor.

Asuna notices this, becoming concerned.

She nervously smiles and chuckles.

"K-Kirito?"

Kazuto says nothing.

Asuna leans closer to him, reaching out to hold his shoulders, fearing she had upset him by the question she asked him.

"Kirito...are you upset?"

Kazuto says nothing.

As Asuna's eyes start watering in concern and worry, Kazuto notices this and faces her...while smiling?

Asuna blinks in confussion.

"You should know by now, Asuna."

"K-know what?"
