SAO drabbles ~

The return of Johnny Black | Part six

Kazuto watches Johnny, his eyes fixated on him as he approaches Asuna slowly. Johnny softly touches the rim of her oxygen mask while looking at Kazuto, menacingly.

Kazuto's eyes widen.

"Get the hell away from her!"

Just as Kazuto attempts to run to Asuna's side and push Johnny out of the way, Johnny pulls out his knife and slashes Kazuto's cheek before holding the knife to Asuna's throat.

"Uh uh, I told you to play nice..."

Kazuto holds his cheek in pain while clenching his teeth. He feels blood drip down his arm.

"You bastard!"

Johnny smirks while looking over at Kazuto and runs his fingers slowly down Asuna's cheek.

Kazuto's eyes widen in horror.

"Well, well, Lightning Flash, how frail and weak you are..."

Kazuto clenches his teeth.

"Don't touch her!"

"Now now, Blackswordsman, any last words you want to say to the Lightning Flash?" Johnny says while placing the point of his knife on the tube of Asuna's oxygen mask.

Kazuto's heart sinks.

He had to do something.

Asuna was about to die.

He had to stop Johnny Black.

Without wasting any time, Kazuto lunges at Johnny from behind and tries to knock the knife out of his hand.

Johnny falls to the floor with Kazuto on top of him, while reaching for his knife, Kazuto grabs Johnny's arm and kicks the knife away from him.

While Johnny tries to break free from Kazuto's grasp, Kazuto manages to kick Johnny in the stomach.

"This is for what you did to Asuna!"

Johnny starts laughing as Kazuto kicks him.

Kazuto clenches his teeth in anger.

"Stop laughing, you bastard!"

"Foolish swordsman!"

"W-what?"

As Kazuto punches Johnny in the face, he hears the noise of hissing air.

Kazuto looks up at Asuna's direction.

Johnny Black continues laughing as Kazuto continues holding him down.

Kazuto's eyes widen.

The air continues hissing.

"Asuna!"

Realising what was happening, Kazuto gets up and runs to Asuna's side.

"A-Asuna..."

He stares in disbelief at her disconnected oxygen mask and her limp body.

He watches as the heart monitor goes flat.

He yells her name a few times but there's no response.

He softly grabs her shoulders to try and shake her awake.

"Asuna, n-no...y-you c-can't....Asuna!"

Johnny Black chuckles from behind Kazuto.

"Too bad, Blackswordsman...I did ask if you had any last words, didn't I?"

Kazuto clenches his teeth while holding Asuna to his chest tightly, while trembling.

"A-Asuna..."

"She can't hear you."

"N-no..."

"She'll never hear you again..."

"Y-you're wrong!"

"She's gone."

"..."

Kazuto stood in silence while holding Asuna's lifeless body tightly, knowing that if he let go, she would truly be gone.

The world around him started disappearing.

The person he loved more than anyone else, the person who was so dear to him, who made him smile, who gave him strength and life, who he'd risk his life for, who he promised to always protect with his life...was dead.
