Kazuto could sense something was wrong.

He just couldn't tell what it was.

Sitting inside the Anniversaire Cafe, located a few minutes away from the Omote Sando Station, Kazuto reaches for his phone from inside his pocket.

As he places his thumb on the home screen button to allow him acess to his phone, he is greeted with a sudden message from Asuna, which read:

[Message from Asuna Yuuki] Hey Kirito, I'm so sorry, but I might be a bit late to our date since my mum wanted to have a talk with me first about my progression in University, even when I insisted I cannot be late for my 'other arangements', she still insisted for me to stay till she is done with her lecture! can you believe her timing? Anyways, I can't wait to see you later! Again, I'm so sorry for the inconvenience! ❤]

Sorry for the inconvenience?...Oh, Asuna.

Kazuto chuckles under his own breath at how formal Asuna had sounded during the last line of her message. He found it adorable how Asuna had insisted to her mother that she had a date, and how she reffered to her date with Kazuto as 'other arangements' since he knew her mother still didn't approve of their relationship, as well as how she had texted back her feelings on how she felt after finding out she had no choice but to stay for the talk with her mother.

It had been a month and a half since Kazuto, Asuna and their friends had returned from the Underworld, along with Alice, who was now an A.I inhanced human-robot, and was stationed at Rath headquarters.

Kazuto barely had a minute to think the second he returned to the real world.

After enduring a whole month of intense rehabilitation, in order to get his body back into a normal state from being in a two year coma, he was also required to complete a boatload of school work to be able to catch up on what he had missed over the last two years, which he had to complete in order to graduate from the S.A.O survivor school he was attending, to be able to move onto University.

When he was not doing either of those things, he found himself pre-occupied and caught between showing Alice how the real world worked and making up for lost time with Asuna, spending as much time with her, by her side, as much as he could, either helping her with her coursework, playing video games together, spending time with Yui, or even just relaxing with her.

After what they both went through in the Underworld,  he at least owed her that

The more Kazuto thought about it, the more he started to realise that Asuna was in fact, quieter than usual since she returned to the real world. She would become more distant from her friends and when it came to spending time with Kazuto, she wouldn't talk about herself as much. He thought this was because she was more concerned about how he was getting on with his recovery and general life, therefore didn't think of asking her if anything was wrong, knowing that she always worries about his general wellbeing constantly, which he appreciated yet wished she didn't have to worry so often about him.

He knew she couldn't help worrying since she loved him so much. The thought of this made a small blush appear on his cheeks. Of course, he also worried about Asuna constantly, how she was doing, if she was feeling alright, since he made it his goal in life to keep his girlfriend happy and safe, no matter what, all those years ago since they shared their first kiss back in Aincrad.

He sighs while tapping his finger on the table.  The red fabric that sat upon the circular wooden table smoothly rubbed upon his the tip of his finger as it came into contact with his skin. With each tap of his finger hitting the table lightly, a new thought of Asuna appeared in his mind.
