Reece's POV

I had to watch her leave while I was trying to get that big piece of glass out of my face. I made a mistake telling her that I can handle this myself. It was obvious that I needed her help but I tried to play though. Sometimes I wish I didn't care about what she thought about me but I couldn't help it. In the past couple of weeks I somehow caught some feelings for her. I didn't want her as my girlfriend but I kept wanting her in my proximity even though I knew she completely hated me.
The police came after a couple of minutes just like she told me they would. I was driven home and my car was taken away. Thankfully it was considered a self-caused accident so Freya didn't get in trouble.
Later that day our boss told me that I had a task to do and I needed to take someone with me. I had to go after the head of a drug dealing group. I knew that I needed a good shooter with me so my mind went straight to our gang's best shooter: Freya. She wasn't going to accept if I asked her to join me so I had to tell her that our boss told us to work together.
The next day I went to pick her up. She didn't like the idea but she had to cooperate.
"Hey there!" I said as she climbed up into the passenger seat and fastened her seatbelt. She didn't respond. Maybe she was angry at me for no reason again. Maybe it was just her hatred for me. After a couple of minutes she looked up at the road.
"So what is our task?" she asked with no inflections in her voice.
"We have to take down a drug dealing group." I answered.
"Good. We gotta stop by the gang's warehouse. I need some more serious guns then." she said and I took a turn in that direction the next second. I don't know why I was so blindly obedient to her commands.
I pulled up in the warehouse's parking lot to notice that someone else was there too. Freya took her gun and got out of the car to check. Fortunately there were just some other members that loaded their guns. She took what she needed and came back to the car.
"Let's get out of here!" she said as I took off.
