The whole trip back home was kind of fun if we don't consider that while I was casually talking to Reece and Freya on the phone someone was shooting at my car from behind. I knew who was shooting and I knew what to prepare for. It was Lexi's uncle, Adrian, and I was certain that he had backup. Surprisingly they were only aiming at me probably not knowing who Reece was. Tens of bullets flew around my car, some going through the back window breaking it and one going straight into my shoulder. It hit me right before pulling into the drive way of my house but I ignored the pain knowing that I had to get inside.
Me and Reece both got out of our cars quick and ran inside before any other shots would target us. My shoulder was bleeding badly but I had to ignore it and keep going. Once we got inside I wanted to lock the door but my had was shaking from the overwhelming pain. "Mate, what happened?" asked Reece, noticing my wound that was bleeding through the hole that the bullet left in my leather jacket. "I'll let you guess." I said ironically. "I got shot, isn't it obvious?" I added kind of mad, biting back a growl caused by the pain as I succeeded to lock the front door. "Wait, but, how?" asked Reece. Once again I was confirmed that they were only chasing me. "Those bastards followed me and aimed at my car and eventually a bullet hit me." I told him. "Shit, mate." he said frowning. We walked into the living room where Freya was waiting for us with around 20 shotguns laid on the floor. "Shit, cousin, your shoulder looks awful. Let me help you clean that up before it gets infected." she said visibly worried. "I assume that might be a little too late." I said looking at my bleeding shoulder as I took my jacket off. "Looks like this bad bitch has already got infected." I said through my teeth as I took the bullet out of my flesh. It hurt like hell but I tried to be as strong as I could. "Here, let me wrap it up." said Freya holding a bandage. "Thanks, cousin." I told her genuinely thankful. "Now, let's get to the real deal. Why do you need all these guns and my help?" she asked us. "If you didn't hear, we're being chased and it will take them a couple of moments to arrive here so we needed backup. And firepower. Loads of it." said Reece. "The enemy gang you say... Okay I've got this." she said loading her favourite shotgun as some gunshots were already being heard from outside. "Shit, they're here." I said grabbing a weapon as well. "We're going to need more backup than this." I added. "I already texted George. He's coming with Kev and some others. We've got serious trouble but even more serious backup." said Reece. Five consecutive gunshots were heard and a loud scream followed by the sound of a body hitting the ground. "Now that is George." said Freya with a smirk. "Let's get going!" she said while unlocking the front door. "Let's go, mate!" said Reece giving me a slap on my non injured shoulder. "Yeah, let's do this." I said trying my best to sound enthusiastic. These two were lovers of fight. I, myself, was a hater of gang wars. I just liked to find a peaceful way out of fights but I would always end up getting my ass kicked.  I eventually took my gun and ran outside to help my mates. Bullets were cutting the air and smoke was clouding my vision. Not even 10 minutes into the fight and I already hear Freya shouting "Get fucked, asshole!" as she shot some guy to the ground. After a couple of death filled minutes I was confronted face to face with Lexi's uncle. He was right in front of me and aimed his gun at my head and pressed it to my forehead leaving me no time to do anything. I hear someone also loading a gun and turned my head slightly to see Kevin aiming at Adrian. In that second he took the gun away from my head and they were aiming at each other. I had no idea what to do. I wanted to save Kevin and shoot Adrian but also I didn't want to kill him. I saw Freya coming into our direction, her massive shotgun aimed at Adrian's head. She stood next to me and we both pointed at Lexi's uncle. "Drop the gun. Now!" she ordered. Adrian saw himself circled by us so he dropped his gun but while he was doing it we heard a loud gunshot that I couldn't tell where it came from followed by a scream. A familiar voice coming from an exact direction. Kevin's direction. I turn my head quickly only to see him laying in a puddle of blood. Someone shot him badly. I went over to him as fast as I could but he was already loosing too much blood. "Take... care... of... George... for me..." he said with his last words, his final breath escaping his lips in front of my eyes. It was too late for him. He was gone. "I promise I'll take care of him. And I swear to revenge you." I said closing his eyes. That night we lost a friend. An ally. An important member. And all because of me. I had to revenge him somehow. I had to kill the one that dared to do such thing.
