two months later
I woke up with a sick feeling in my stomach. It has been happening the whole week and if that wasn't enough, I haven't gotten my period the last two months. Eventually I decided to go to the bathroom and take a pregnancy test. It came out positive and I wasn't sure if I should've been happy or not. A small tear formed in the corner of my eye as I looked at the two red lines.
The wedding was in a week and being pregnant was the last thing that I would've wanted in that moment. I was indeed going to keep the baby considering that me and Reece have been talking about having a child for a long time.
I threw the test to the side and washed my face. Reece was in the kitchen making breakfast like every single morning.
"Babe, I have some news for you!" I shouted from the top of the stairs.
"What is it?" he asked me as I arrived next to him.
Without saying anything I put the test on the counter top with a huge smile on my face.
"WHAT?" he exclaimed in shock. "No fucking way!" he added holding back happy tears.
"You'll be an amazing dad!" I said smiling.
"I- I don't even know what to say! I haven't expected this at all!" he said laughing through happy tears. He dragged me closer to him and gave a big hug.
"There's one problem though." I said as I pulled away from him.
"What?" he asked.
"I don't think I'm allowed to wear my wedding dress now. You know all those traditions and shit." I said looking at my feet.
"Honestly? Fuck those. It's your special day and no tradition can tell you you're not allowed to wear the dress of your dreams which I still haven't seen because of another stupid tradition." he told me.
"Okay, fine, but you're still not allowed to see it. I just want it to be a surprise. I don't care that it's 'bad luck' if you see it." I said as I cupped his face with my hands.
"I feel like I haven't told you this in ages but I fucking love you!" he said as he leaned in to kiss me.
"I fucking love you too!" I said as I pulled away smiling widely.the wedding day
Reece's POVI wasn't able to process what was happening around me. Richard helped me tie my tie and Scarlet made sure my hair was looking perfect. They were all acting like I was part of their family and it was all that I needed on the most important day of my life. I looked one more time in the mirror before George's mum told us to come to the altar as everyone was waiting. My hands were shaking and my legs felt like noodles but eventually I made it there. I was sat there as the well known music started and the door of the church had opened.
It was the first time I had actually seen Freya that day as she was walking in by George's side. A huge smile had formed into my face and I couldn't make it go away. She was truly breathtaking in her pure white dress. It was ample ample and princess-like, full with lacy details and completed by a corset that shaped her upper body perfectly. I could swear she made everyone else in that church feel ugly.
"You look unreal!" I told her when she arrived in front of me.
"You don't look too bad yourself." she said sarcastically as always.
"Shall we?" asked the priest. We both nodded our heads as he started the ceremony.
"We gather here to unite these two people in marriage. Their decision
to marry has not been entered into lightly and today they publicly
declare their private devotion to each other. The essence of this
commitment is the acceptance of each other in entirety, as lover,
companion, and friend. A good and balanced relationship is one in
which neither person is overpowered nor absorbed by the other, one
in which neither person is possessive of the other, one in which
both give their love freely and without jealousy.
Marriage, ideally, is a sharing of responsibilities, hopes, and dreams.
It takes a special effort to grow together, survive hard times, and be
loving and unselfish." said the priest as the ceremony had begun. I looked into Freya's eyes only to notice small tears that I wiped away with my thumb.
"Do you both pledge to share your lives openly with one another, and
to speak the truth in love? Do you promise to honor and tenderly
care for one another, cherish and encourage each other, stand
together, through sorrows and joys, hardships and triumphs for all
the days of your lives? " continued the priest.
We looked at each other for a second that said in one voice: "We do."
"Do you pledge to share your love and the joys of your marriage with
all those around you, so that they may learn from your love and be
encouraged to grow in their own lives?" said the priest.
"We do." we replied as we were one person.
"May these rings be blessed as a symbol of your union. As often as
either of you look upon these rings, may you not only be reminded of
this moment, but also of the vows you have made and the strength of
your commitment to each other.
Reece, repeat after me:
I, Reece Jamie Bibby, promise to love and support you, Freya Garcia, and live each day with kindness, understanding, truth, humor, and passion. With this ring I thee wed." the priest told me.
I took Freya's hands into mine, said the vow and put the beautiful gold ring on her finger.
"Freya, repeat after me:
I, Freya Garcia, promise to love and support you, Reece Jamie Bibby, and live each day with kindness, understanding, truth, humor, and passion. With this ring I thee wed." the priest told her.
She took my hands into hers, said the vow and put the ring on my finger.
"Go now in peace and live in love, sharing the most precious gifts you have - the gifts of your lives united. And may your days be long on this earth. I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." said the priest as he ended the ceremony.
I gently dragged her closer to me and kissed her while everyone was cheering. The whole world stopped in that moment as we were finally happy. Finally married. Finally parents even though we were the only ones who know.
