Freya's POV

I knew the second that I stepped in Reece's car that this mission will only go downhill from there. I've always been confident on missions but when he was around, I couldn't concentrate and I couldn't figure out why.
When we finally managed to track down where the dealers were hiding, we rushed into that direction. The group was hiding in an abandoned neighbourhood on the outskirts, a place they thought no one would find or dare to even look for. Thankfully, Reece's car was silent so they didn't hear us pull up behind the building. We silently got out of the car and loaded our guns. I thought that we were going to slowly walk on them but unfortunately Reece's gun was too loud and they heard us coming. The group packed their stuff and ran to their cars before we could do anything. We managed to run to our car in time to catch up and follow them.
I had to lean out through the window so I could shoot their tyres. There were three cars and I was just one person so it was insanely difficult. Somehow I managed to shoot 2 tyres from one of the cars and break the back window of another one. Little did I know that someone from the third car got out through his window and aimed a shotgun at me. Reece shouted at me to get back inside but I couldn't hear him due to my gunshots. In the exact second that the man fired his gun Reece took a hectic 360° turn in the middle of the road causing the car to stop in that exact place. Hardly had I managed to get inside after I've almost fallen out, when I saw Reece's bleeding bicep. He tried to protect me from getting shot by getting himself shot instead. I reached for the first aid kit from under my seat and tried to stop his bleeding. I tried to take a closer look at where the bullet went but it was way too deep in his flesh. It was the first time ever I truly felt sorry for him. He got injured trying to protect me; something that only Blake has done before.
