The next day I met up with Blake because I wanted to let him know the big news before we would summon the entire gang to make it official.
"So, what is it that you wanted to show me so badly that you literally can home for it?" he asked me sarcastically. I raised my left hand and pointed at the ring finger where my gorgeous ring was. "Huh?" he asked confused. "Did somehow pretty boy dummy Reece propose to you?" he added. "Yes, you dumbfuck! He fucking did!" I exclaimed smiling like a stupid bitch. "Congratulations, cousin! To be bloody honest this was the last thing that I saw coming from you!" he said laughing, visibly happy as he pulled me into a tight hug. "My baby cousin is getting married... wow." he said under his breath as he was still hugging me. "Yes, I am." I whispered back smiling even larger. "When are you guys summoning the gang?" he asked. "This evening. I wanted you to know the news firstly though." I told him still smiling like an idiot.
"I guess you've heard the news by now, brother." said the text that Blake had just received from Reece. "I fucking did! Congrats, you fucker!" he replied. "Okay now, I could use some help with informing the gang about the meeting. Could you do some phone calls for us please?" I asked him kindly. "Of course!" he answered. "You know... I kind of wish mum was here to see you like this. I don't want to make this situation sad but you know that she has always wanted to see you as a bride." he told me. A tiny tear ran down my cheek. My mum, I mean, our mum in fact, was nothing but a kind soul that had no choice other than obey to dad. One of her biggest dreams was to see both of us make it in life and get married. She always wanted to be a grandma. Too bad that dad's horrible actions had brought her death. What's even worse it's that I was the one that had to end her suffering. Now I know that she's an angel watching over us every second. She's with us always. And she'll always be.
I went upstairs and got ready for the meeting. From the day I was going to marry Reece I was going to be practically a leader as well, working by his side. Not that I wasn't like that already. I've tried to put on the most formal yet casual outfit I could so I went for the green velvet dress that I wore when he first confessed that he loves me. It had a very special meaning to me and it felt more than right to wear it that time. I went downstairs to get the keys to my car but to my surprise, Reece was already there ready to pick me up. "I couldn't let you drive alone. Not on this special day, my dear fiancée." he said with a cheeky smile, like always. That word sounded so weird: fiancée. I probably would've never going to get used to it. "Okay, fine, but only this one time!" I said as I put my keys back and grabbed his hand.
When we got to our ex-leader's mansion, where we had all our meetings, lots of cars were already parked in front of it. Me and Reece walked inside and went straight into the dining room where the huge table was set. Reece took a seat at the end of the table and I took one on the right, as close to him as possible. Then, he stood up and began to talk: "We all gathered here for a very important reason. And thankfully, this time, it's good news. You probably all know that for almost a year now, this gorgeous girl right here, - he said looking at me lovingly - has always been by my side. She has probably done more for this community than I did as a leader. And that's exactly why she's been owning my heart ever since I first met her. So, to get straight to it - he said clearing his throat - last night I made a pretty crucial decision and from now on I want you all to know that this lady right here, Freya Garcia, will be my wife. For now and forever." he said finally exhaling heavily. The whole crowd started to clap and cheer as Blake popped a bottle of champagne and poured into everyone's glasses. Our members, of all ages, were all celebrating in one loud voice. A moment of pure happiness that followed after some of the darkest months for all of us. We lost people. We won battles. Most of us found love. Some got heart broken. Others lost their families. Others enlarged theirs. Some were sad. Some were happy. But in that moment, a moment of unity, a moment of celebration they all said in one voice: Long live The Parkers.
