Chapter No. 17

Austin's POV:

She never fails to impress me. Today when I returned from waking up my sister she was in the kitchen arguing to cook alongside Lia. But the thing that surprised me was that she was barefoot and didn't mind it, asking she said she was lazy and didn't want to go all the way back just to retrieve slippers. She is the only person I've seen who despises heels. Now upon pondering I have seen that she always supports flats or the sorts but no heels unless not very necessary. Than the way she woke Brian and dealt with Daniel was funny and astonishing, I thought she was bluffing at the dinner that she takes meals very seriously. I got her my slippers and her feet looked tiny in it, I don't know why but it brought a smile on my face. In the meeting the confidence she was oozing out made me actually think that is she the same Amalie who is all smiles? Doesn't seem like it. She looked stressed when reading all the reports so I had ordered hot chocolate and the smile I got in return for it was worth it. She really isn't a business lover, and I am now glad that the Andersons took over. At least now she has the independence to do what she really desires. And it honestly makes me more satisfied than I assumed.

The way she rejected Jonathon, I did my utmost to suppress my laughter. When the meeting finally ended she finally breathed in relief, and the first thing she did was take of her heels and once again walked barefoot back to Daniel's office.

Daniel asked me to take approval of Amalie on the merger deal as well, since for the France branch I would directly be working with her. Nodding, I left the meeting and on the floor there employees whispering of Amalie, and many were a lot more negative than I thought, I guess they didn't get the memo that Amalie is the other CEO of the Empire. Sighing, I entered the office and saw her tallying some of the previous month's documents and was sighing, looks like she had work cut out for her. I walked into the office, she looked up to see me and smiled, "Done with the meeting?"

"Yes, but I need to talk to you about the France project."

She looked at me quizzically, "You lost me."

That's what I like about her what she doesn't understand she says it without hesitating, "Your father won't be handling the France project, your brother has his hands full with Australian and American branches and your father is handling the American branches along with Daniel, so you get the gist of things."

"Okay, but I haven't received anything on the France merger project." Amalie answered searching the files present.

I handed her the copy of the project and she went through it, "Austin, can you give me some time to go through it, I am honestly blank on it, after all it's not my cup of hot chocolate." She giggled on the end.

"I take that you have taken business major along with Accounts?"

"Yes, that are my major in college." She replied.
