My hands are holding on to hers tightly as we approached the doors to the ballroom.

In my hundreds of years of existence, I've never felt my heart pound heavier because for the first time ever, I have her with me on my birthday.

My hands are almost sweating, and my walking pace is almost making her run, that I have to breath out heavily before we approach the gate, before she knows what the real occasion is.

"K, are you alright?" she asks me out of the blues.

"Just a bit cautious tonight. Everyone's looking at us, they're all seeing you for the first time." "Yeah..." "But X, if you hear new things about me tonight, I just need you to keep an open mind." I tell her as we meet the special black jade-skulled doors.

Junil, the demon Fiotos, was in-charge of the special guests tonight.

"You're highness, welcome. Ms. Alexandra Kain, good evening." he announces gracefully. Alex doesn't know what to do, but ends up smiling as she nods her head.

She's too terrified of speaking to the purple demon.

"Good evening Junil. Has my father arrived yet?"

"Not yet you're highness, but I'll be sure to inform you of his arrival."

"Thank you." I say and pull Alex away quickly before he said anything else.

The rest of the couples follow us behind and as we enter the hall, we are all in amazement.

There is no way any of this is possible.

From the black and white tiles, to the bone encrusted chandeliers to the banquet of food and the number of people dancing in the hall, I couldn't imagine any of this at all.

Every monster, from every shape and size are dancing to the tune of the magical orchestra. The instruments play on its own as I witness the Munduriums in their beautiful dresses and suits. They all look so human, almost all—that I couldn't differentiate who was a vampire and who was a witch.

"You don't have to worry tonight Alex. You see those men in the white suits...their Rodfon's Noncs." "Okay..." I say, "...but can I just go to the ladies... just take in a deep breath." "Of course, go to my room then. Abby will follow." he says before letting me leave.

"Has he texted you yet?" I ask when we're far away from the group.

"Yeah. He should be around here somewhere..." she says as we dive further into the corridors. "What's he wearing?" I ask.

"Brown leather jacket with gold buttons." Mr. Wayne says behind us as we jump in fright. We turn around to meet the aged-man who's looking far younger than he actually is.

"Damn gramps! You've got some swag!" Abby says excited.

"You do look rather stylish Uncle." "As do you girls. Attire is important tonight. Since the Prince has gotten the Noncs to wear white, the Fyres all have orange rings on instead. So, if you see a big orange ring, you're safe."

"That's fantastic Uncle, but something's going to go down tonight, something that I haven't told you yet."

With a glass of char Dane in my hand, I look from above the balcony.

There are many of them, many of them which could hurt Alex.

The expected crowd had increased magnificently since last year and the previous years. Something was brewing and my father had his named signed all over it with glee.
