A month after...
We only see each other once a week (specifically every Saturday). We're both busy sa trabaho namin and we also decided to give a little space and privacy in each other's lives.
During my free time on weekdays, I usually chat with my friends. I don't even remember us texting or calling each other on those days. If I'm busy with work, he's even busier. He once told me he'll work late most of the time.
Dahil sa current situation namin, I began to get worried.
Will it work like this? Aren't we supposed to spend time with each other? To know more about each other? Isn't this the opposite of what dating means?!
I wanted to (a lot of times) bother him but my superego would always say no. So in the end, I haven't done anything. I even failed to ask him if he ate dinner. Hay, it's even Valentine's Day today.
"Happy Valentine's day, Teacher Cee!"
The classroom was loud. The kids surprised me with flowers and chocolates. They lead me to the center and gave their messages one after the other. I was grateful. Little did I know. I already love this profession.
After work, most of my colleagues went ahead rushing through the gate of the school while I stayed with Nalie.
"Ba't nandito ka pa? Wala ba kayong plans ni Calvin?"
" Ah. Wala eh. Hindi pa nga kami nag-uusap. Haha...Masyado kasing busy these days."
"Oh? Okay lang sa inyo yun? Sure kang okay lang kayo?"
"Oo naman." I answered, but honestly... I don't know if we are still okay. I'm used to loving someone even secretly. But dating..? I don't know anything.
That afternoon, Nalie went to her tutorial class and I decided to walk home. Yes. Just walk. It would usually take 30 minutes or an hour from my workplace to my house.
I was waiting at the pedestrian lane when I saw this pregnant woman carrying a lot of paper bags. She looked like she needed help so I went to her.
"Ahm...excuse me. Okay lang po ba kayo? Tulungan na po kita sa mga dala mo ah." I said as I grabbed the other bags that was left on the ground.
"Thank you po, miss. " She said.
"Saan po ba ang punta niyo? Samahan ko na po kayo."
"Ah, sa opisina ng asawa ko. Mag-o-overtime kasi siya kaya ipinagluto ko siya ng hapunan at dinalhan na rin ng...pamalit..."
She was smiling pero halatang parang nahihirapan na siyang magsalita.
" What if pumunta po muna tayo sa ospital? O kaya umupo muna tayo doon sa cafe at tawagan ang asawa niyo? Hindi po kasi kayo mukhang okay eh."
