Josh's Point of View

I was four, and she came into my life. Her big brown and innocent eyes would stare up at me when I held her for the first time, a brotherly love and feel of protection washing over my body instantly. Yet at the same time, pain stabbed at my heart.

I didn't realize it at the time, I had grown so used to the pain in my twenty years of life to realize that it was the pain of holding a dead mate, one that I would never have the chance to meet.

Her wolf had killed her, with just a simple thought she was dead.

She pulled me in, using her charm and lured me into her ways, making me fall for her.

I was so stupid to of fall for it.

And I regret it, the pain today was more obvious to me then it was sixteen years ago, when she fooled me.

Enough of my moping. Let's just...start over.

Eight years ago*

Rose's Point of View

I giggled as Josh chased me, running as fast as my little legs could take me.

I screamed playfully as I felt him get closer to me and pushed myself faster, turning a sharp corner in the big house and running into someone, nearly falling back when Josh caught me. I shivered as the tingles spread through my body once again, but I was too busy staring up at father in fear, hoping he wouldnt hit me again like last time.

He glared down at me before suddenly smiling at the two of us, but I could see the hate in his eyes and the evilness of his smile.

"Josh. Your step mother and I would like to speak with you."My heart dropped at that, something bad was going to happen, I could feel it.

"Don't go with him!" I said and threw my tiny arms around my brothers wide shoulders, hugging him tightly. He wrapped his arms around me gently.

Don't blame me. I was overdramatic at the time.

"What do you need to talk about?" He asked father, who reached for me, but Josh pulled me closer to him and away from father, like he knew something was wrong.

"You will be leaving in the morning." He said in his cold voice, the voice that have been haunting my dreams, as he ripped me away from my brother.

It took a few seconds before his words sunk in when I started screaming, tears streaming down my face as step mother pulled Josh's thrashing form away from me.

I fought with everything I had, I needed my brother. I couldnt live without him, he was my everything, he made me smile.

"Let me go!" I screamed, and father suddenly dropped me, his eyes wide in shock as he wasnt moving, I didn't think anything of it when I should've.

I had just ordered him to do something.

I was an Alpha, or an Alpha's mate.

I scrambled to my feet, running towards my brother, who was running towards me also.

He pulled me into his arms.

"Please don't go." I begged.

"I have to. But I'll come back. I promise. This isn't forever." he said as he wiped my tears away. He kissed me quickly on the cheek when we were suddenly ripped apart again, but I allowed, knowing he would keep his promise.

But not knowing how long it would take to fulfill that promise.

Present time*

I gasped as another kick was delivered to my stomach, blood pouring out of the corner of my mouth.

But no one cared, they just kept walking by as the alpha's son had his way with me.

I cradled my legs to my chest, sheilding my face from the many kicks and punches I was receiving.

"You should've never been born. Your a disgrace to this pack. Your mate will hate you when he finds out who you are. You deserve everything that your going through. Filthy mutt." He spat down at me.

I smiled hatefully up at him, showing my bloodied teeth.

"Like your much better. You own mate rejected you, the next alpha. You should be crying like you were the other night, I heard you, wailing in your bed." I spat, gasping slightly.

I really made stupid decisions those days.

His eyes widened at my words and he kicked me twice more before walking away.

I scrambled to my feet, limping to my room, each movement of my sore muscles making me wince.

"What the hell are you looking at?" I asked a group of teenagers on the second floor, who were snickering and pointing at me. "This will be you soon if you keep laughing."

And the threat in my voice was clear, that they would regret every damn thing they put me through.

I was a nobody. I was a weakling.

But slowly, without realizing it, I was beginning to discover who I really was.

They immediately shut up, staring at me in shock.

I shook my head at myself, wondering what the hell was wrong with me today. My wolf was on edge on every little thing.

I had heard the beta's, my father who didnt have a heart when it came to me, son was coming back. Yep, Josh is back. Two weeks, on my birthday. But of course he wasnt coming for me, he was coming for the title as beta of our pack. I doubt he even remembered my birthday.

"I heard what you said to Kevin." A high-pitched voice said from behind me.

I turned to the one and only, Stacey. Today she was weearing a skirt that barely went to the top of her thigh, clearly showing off her black thong, and a tank top that showed off her stomach and belly ring, nearly having her breasts hanging out. Her whole army of sluts standing behind her, which was about five of them.

"I am his mate, not that other girl who thought she was too good for him." She spat, backhanding me across the face.

But this time, I pulled my fist back, punching her directly in the nose, satisfied as I heard the large snap and she fell to the floor screaming and holding her nose.

The alpha was suddenly there, gripping me tightly by my arm and slamming me against the wall.

I grimaced as I stared at him, wanting to piss him off.

"That's all you got, old man?" I said, my blood spattered across his face.

Father was suddenly behind him, staring at me with so much hate.

"What's going on here?" Father asked.

"What does it look like, moron?" I asked, I just couldnt keep my mouth shut.

I gasped as my head was suddenly slammed against the wall, feeling the hot liquid of my blood soak my hair.

"Let. Me. Go," I growled, and for a second, shock and admiration filled his eyes and his grip slackened, just a little.

But like I said, it was just a second.

"You will not speak to me like that. I am your father." He said as the alpha kneed me in the stomach, making me double over in pain, I stared up my father, not able to show any emotion but pain.

"Are you sure about that?" I asked as more blood poured from my mouth and head, making me feel dizzy and light headed.

It wasnt for a few seconds until I realized how true my words were, he wasnt my father. The evidence was in my blood, I could smell it now.

Even if just a little, my senses were dull, I could smell the lightest tint of royal in the blood at my feet.
