Rose POV

I stood there, frozen in shock, until I found my lips moving against his softly.

So many emotions were running through my body along with the shocks of electricity, the shocks stronger than what me and Josh have.

He stepped back all to soon, a dazed look in his eye, which quickly turned into anger and hatred while staring at me.

I stared at him in shock, my hand coming up to touch my lips softly, where I could still feel his lips on mine.

"You chose him over me. I looked for you my whole life and when I found you, you had him. You chose him over me, your true mate." He said angrily, "And you will both suffer from that decision."

"How was I supposed to know? You never said a word to me, never came near me. And suddenly I'm here, while you hold me captive? I would've chose you if you told me when you first found me." I said, suddenly angry.

He laughed humorlessly, opening the cell and stepping inside quickly before shutting it behind him and approaching me.

And his hand came up, I didn't have time to process it before he backhanded me across the face.

I fell to the ground, gripping my cheek as blood fell from a cut on my lip. I stared up at him, tears filling my eyes as the memories hit me, what they did to me my whole life.

His eyes softened for a split second before he shut his eyes tightly, shaking his head before opening them, that same cold and hard look back to them.

"You would've chosen him anyway. You knew him your whole life. You didn't know me at all." He said.

His foot came up and my wolf put up a physical shield, which had no use as his foot contacted with my back, making me gasp and cry out in pain.

He laughed again.

"You should know, your powers don't work on me. I'm stronger than you until you learn how to use your powers." He laughed again, humorlessly.

Flashes of my past kept floating through my mind, making me shake more in fear.

I curled myself into a ball, pulling my knees to my chest and shielding my head with my arms.

"Please don't hurt me." I whispered, mostly to myself.

All was silent, only sound was the few sobs leaving my mouth every few seconds.

Until I felt him crouch down next to me and his arms wrap around me, holding me to his chest.

And I sat there, body tense while he held me, whispering things to himself that I couldn't hear clearly.

And after a while, I uncurled myself from my ball and pressed my face into his chest, letting him pull me completely into his lap.

This was what my wolf wanted, who she had wanted all along, I was just too stubborn to realize it.
