Chapter 42

Josh POV

I sighed as I picked up Linda and took James hand, looking around for Rose's parents, but running into Kristen instead.

"What's wron-"I started, but she cut me off, looking around with wide eyes.

"Where the hell is Rose?" She cried, looking around desperately.

"I dont know." I said, frowning slightly. "Why?"

"They're here! They're attacking!" She said, running past me.

I jogged to keep up with her, still holding onto James and Linda.

"What do you mean? Who is here?" I asked, hoping it wasnt what I thought.

"Rouges and hunters. And they're looking for Rose." She said.

I froze.

What the hell was wrong with me today?

I saw Pixie and someone else standing near a bench, looking around.

"Where is she?" I asked.

"She disappeared." Pixie whispered with wide eyes.

"What do you mean?" Kristen asked, frowning.

"She like literally disappeared! She was standing here one second and then she started running! I couldnt keep up! She disappeared! They were chasing her!" She said, panic in her eyes as she looked around.

"She's using her powers." Kristen said, paling.

I stared in confusion, and saw a flash of yellow down a hall and then a wolf chasing it.

"She's that way. Stay here with the twins." I said to Pixie as me and Kristen took off running.

We rounded the corner, stopping abruptly when a wolf ran past us whining in fear.

I looked ahead just to see Rose disappear into the crowd of people at the entrance of the store.

She looked back at me and everything in me froze.

Her eyes were glowing.

Not the same golden color they had been a few days ago.

They were glowing a bright blue, nearly blinding.

And it didn't seem like a good sign.
