Chapter 8

Josh POV

I sighed again, running my hands angrily through my hair.

I was standing in the forest, right where Rose's scent ended.

I looked up, at the trees, but I couldnt see anything, I wasnt as strong as I was before.

But as I took a step forward, her scent was stronger, so I followed it, leading myself towards town.

I shifted into my black wolf, taking off through the forest and hoping to find her.

I ran through the edge of the forest, ignoring the loud gasps of humans and the screaming as I ran further into town, pushing myself as fast as I could so she wouldnt get away.

My breath hitched as I saw her,  running in the shadows quickly, careful not to be seen by anyone. She froze suddenly, looking around with wide eyes.

I started to walk to her, but froze when my father, I quickly jumped behind a building in hearing range.

I heard her whimper softly and then his rough cold voice.

"I thought I told you to leave." He growled.

"I was leaving before you showed up." Rose snapped.

"It's too late now. People are everywhere searching for you. I need to get rid of you now." He said and I heard their footsteps coming towards me.

I growled when I saw him, holding Rose by her arm tightly.

He stepped back with wide eyes, his grip tightening on Rose making her whimper in pain as she tried to pry his fingers from her arm.

I jumped toward my father just as Rose managed to get away, my jaws open as I tackled him to the ground, trying to get him around the neck, but he knew what I was going for.

I gasped as I was suddenly thrown off of him, my step mother standing there glaring at me.

Pack members restrained me when I turned to Rose. I tried to get to her, but they forced both of us away from each other.

I growled, snapping at the pack as I broke through, shifting right before I had Rose in my arms, where she would stay forever and I wouldnt let her go ever again.
