Rose POV

I sighed as I snuggled into Josh's chest, his scent causing warmness to spread through my cold body.

I wrapped my arms tightly around his torso, his arms tightening around me slightly as he inhaled deeply.

People were trying to pull us apart, but they couldn't come between us, I wouldn't let them come between us, they wouldn't ruin my life any further.

They finally managed to pry us apart and I looked around in panic, hoping I wouldn't be separated from Josh again.

"Stop!" A booming voice said from around us and everyone froze but me.

I continued looking around at the pack, who all seemed to appear out of no where. They all glared at me with so much hatred.

I whimpered in fear and ran into Josh's arms, wrapping my arms back around him and wishing I could disappear under all their hateful glares.

He buried his face in my hair as mine pressed into his chest.

"Rose." A voice said from behind me and I frowned, pulling away to look behind me and something snapped, feeling like I found something I was missing.

I gasped and ran up to my older brother, who I knew by my wolf telling me, and jumped up, attaching myself to him. He laughed and held me around the waist so I wouldn't fall.

"You remember me?" He asked, staring down at me.

"Well not really, but my wolf does." I said smiling up at him. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"You can talk to your wolf? You haven't shifted yet. That's not possible. And how do you have your powers?" He asked as he stepped away from me, looking me up and down.

"I thought all royals could." I said and heard a few gasps at the mention of me being a royal.

"No royals could. Only one, but that was hundreds of years ago. Unless..." He trailed off, his eyes widening slightly.

"Unless what?" I asked.

"Your wolf isn't named after a flower is it?" He asked.

"It is. Leila." I said, smiling at the mention of my wolf.

He went pale suddenly, taking a step back as if I had slapped him.

"That means your the chosen one." He whispered.

A few gasps were heard around us as others came to see what the commotion was about.

Whispers could be heard all around me.

"The chosen one?" I asked, frowning.

"Yes. Th-" He started but was cut off when Josh let out an angry growl, staring at his father as he tried to step towards me.

Before I could even blink, Josh was shifted and on top of his father, chaos surrounding us.
