"What do you mean?" he asks, looking utterly confused.
"It didn't smell right. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you used the right stabilisers." I'm looking at my shoes now, scraping my toe across the floor. "It just didn't smell right."
"B-but h-how could you tell?! The human nose can't usually pick up sensitive differences between chemical compounds!"
I just keep staring a hole through the floor, fumbling with the door behind me, trying to find a handle.
"Remarkable..."
I finally find it, turn it, and begin to slide out of the door. "N-nice t-t-talking to y-you... A-and maybe try some s-salt..." I mumble before escaping the acid gaze of curiosity.
"So... How did it go?" Mikey said in his gossipy schoolgirl voice.
"Um... Just... Got yelled at..." I replied, still looking at the floor.
"Mmhmm..."
