1965, The Beginning of the End
"Are you sure this is okay?" Taehyung asked his boyfriend between kisses. He could never get tired of Jung-kook's soft lips, those lips that often formed a thin line when he's pretending to be happy, or sometimes relaxed like now when he's being affectionate.
"It's fine," Jung-kook mumbled. He did not know what had gotten into him, but he had been staring at the blonde's mouth since this morning when they're walking through the city streets.
"But won't people see us?" The blonde insisted, his fear of being discovered trying to overpower his current enjoyment.
"Don't worry, just stop talking," the brunet replied, continuing his assault on Taehyung's lips.
Not that they haven't been passionate before, but this was the first time they kissed outside their "safe" space, that place being the empty brick shed by the farmland.
Now they were huddling in an unknown territory, not on private land, to be specific: under a bridge which wasn't entirely inconspicuous. Though not crowded, the bridge itself became host to townsfolk who wanted to cross from one side of the street to another.
In any other normal day, this would not be a problem, but this was 1960s Korea, and society did not exactly welcome homosexual relationships with open arms. Not that Jung-kook was braver than Taehyung; on the contrary, Jung-kook's boots shook underneath his feet. But being cooped up for years might do things to people. Jung-kook merely didn't want to waste precious time and miss the opportunity of kissing Taehyung's lips again and again.
That afternoon, the streets emptied, and Jung-kook took the chance. Unbeknownst to the couple, however, was a solitary pair of eyes watching them from atop the bridge.
