"His name's Kwon Hyeop, and he was....your brother."

"My brother?" Taehyung repeated.

"Yes," Jung-kook affirmed, trying to sound like a parent convincing a child that Santa Claus was real.

"And nobody thought to tell me I had a brother, not even you," Taehyung remarked, casting a glance at his partner.

"I'm sorry, I didn't want you to remember the day of the accident," Jimin conceded.

"You told me I was run over by a tractor, was that a lie?"

"Yes, it was," Jimin replied, despite feeding Taehyung another tale. "You and your brother were involved in a car crash. He died. You lived."

Taehyung returned his questioning gaze at Jung-kook. "Is that true?"

Jung-kook nodded. "I'm so sorry."

"Why do you need to apologize, Jung-kook?" Taehyung said. "It's not your fault. Accidents happen."

The faces of others had looks of surprise in varying degrees, not expecting the seated man to be so forgiving.

"But it kind of was," Jung-kook confessed, remembering the ultimate goal of this farcical, yet painful exercise. "I chased Kwon Hyeop, and he had no choice to but to swerve."

Color rose up Taehyung's cheeks, and his fists tightened into a knot.

Jung-kook continued. "I pursued him because I was jealous of the relationship he had with my ex-wife, Min-A. I thought she was cheating on me. So when I saw him dropping her off at the house, and leaving with you in tow, I became filled with madness."

The deception became easier with each passing minute, one lie on top of another.

"I drove the car, and rammed into yours, and when he didn't stop, I......."

"That's enough," Taehyung hissed. "Leave now, before I kill you."
