"So....what brings you here?" Jung-kook questioned as he poured his visitor a cup of tea. His hands steady, unlike before.

"Funny how you asked me the same thing last time," Taehyung remarked.

"Di...did I? If so, I'm sorry...."

"Ah, I'm only joking with you so you won't be so jittery around this crippled man."

"I'm sorry I didn't realize ...but it wasn't because...."

Taehyung chuckled and Jung-kook became puzzled. It's a sound he hadn't heard for the longest time.

"You need to stop the habit of apologizing," Taehyung said. "You did nothing wrong so you don't have to worry."

Jung-kook couldn't help but feel guilty after hearing Taehyung's statement. It's been so many years and yet the weight on his shoulders did not lighten. If he could only turn back time.....

"Ah, you must be curious to know why I'm here," Taehyung continued. "You see, my son and your daughter had a child not long ago and I am not sure if you're aware since you didn't come to visit."

"My....my daughter?"

"Yes, your daughter, Eun-hye," Taehyung confirmed. "She didn't tell you?"

"I...I'm afraid not. We...we haven't talked for quite some time," Jung-kook confessed while thinking that fate must be playing a cruel joke on him. What were the odds that his daughter would be married to Taehyung's son?

Taehyung continued. "I understand your relationship wasn't perfect, but to what extent, I'm uncertain. So you might think I'm imposing but speaking as a newly minted grandfather, I imagined you'd like to learn about your grandson."

"Th....thank you. That would be nice," Jung-kook admitted.

"That's wonderful because I can see where Taemin got his good looks."

Unwillingly, Jung-kook's face turned red at the compliment. It was as if he's a schoolgirl blushing when her crush just became aware of her existence. But Jung-kook was far from adolescence; he was a bitter middle-aged man who merely lost his passion to live.

"So you're saying.... I have a grandson..." Jung-kook stuttered, letting the news settle in.

"No, we do."
