1967, the Eye of the Storm
"Sae-ron, where's my son?" the stern matriarch asked the docile maiden.
"Umm.... I saw him at the stables earlier, ma'am," Sae-ron replied, her hands slightly crumpling her skirt.
"Ask him to come over," Mrs. Jeon commanded.
"Right... right now, ma'am?" Sae-ron inquired.
"Yes." Mrs. Jeon looked at the girl cowering under her glare. "Is there a problem?"
"No, ma'am," Sae-ron answered as she quickly left the ominous presence of her mistress.
"Hey, Kookie, shouldn't you already be going?" Taehyung asked his lover, who was standing leisurely by the small kitchen stove, cooking some spicy Korean noodles.
"No, it's all right," Jung-kook replied as he lifted the lid from the pot and dipped a ladle into the soup. "Here, taste it."
"Mmm.... it tastes delicious," Taehyung said, "but it doesn't taste as good as you."
"Oh Lord," Jung-kook rolled his eyes, a habit he seemed to pick up after being with Taehyung for some time.
"Please, Kooks," Taehyung retorted, "just because I look godly, doesn't mean you can call me that...... yet."
Jung-kook heaved a big sigh. "I don't know what to do with you."
"How about you just love me forever?" Taehyung suggested and was about to kiss Jung-kook until he heard a loud knocking.
"If that's Sae-Ron, tell her to bug off," Jung-kook instructed as Taehyung went to open the door.
"Babe... what's taking you so long?" Jung-kook called out after a few minutes of silence. Not hearing any response, he turned and found that there's nobody in the house. He settled the ladle on the counter and walked to the entrance.
As he peered outside, Jung-kook gasped. "Mo...... mother? What are you doing here?"
