Can love transcend time? Jeon Jung-kook asked this very question himself when he looked at himself in the mirror as a middle-aged man. His daughter was planning to elope with someone considered not "fit" for the Jeon household. Somehow he heard hims...

"Daddy! Daddy, what are you doing?" Eun-hye wailed as she ran towards her mother.
Jung-kook looked at his daughter with tears streaming down her face. "Nothing honey, I'm just talking to your mom."
"Liar!" Min-A shouted, her hand covering her cheek. "Is this what you do, Jung-kook?"
"Let's not argue in front of Eun-hye," Jung-kook suggested.
Min-A scoffed. "Why? So she won't know that her father isn't a man as men don't hit women?"
"Enough Min-A," Jung-kook said with a stern voice. "I don't want our child learning any of your dramatics."
"What dramatics?" Min-A feigned as she took in a loud, sharp breath.
"Are you hurt, Mommy?" Eun-hye asked her mother.
Min-A caught both of Eun-hye's hands and placed them on her face. "Don't worry about me, love. I'll be all right. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
Eun-hye nodded as her mother kissed her forehead. "I'm sorry, Mommy."
"What are you sorry for?" Min-A questioned her daughter who's turning out to be a sweet, empathic child. She hoped one day that Eun-hye would grow up to be tougher than she could ever be, and fight for her own happiness. Min-A didn't want her daughter to be trapped in a loveless marriage like she was and had to conform to the strict rules set by their predecessors.
The young girl peeked at her mother and gave her a peck on the cheek. "I'm sorry you're hurt."
"Well, when you grow up, you'll learn that the people who you love the most, may make you sad," Min-A explained. "That's just part of life. You can choose either to accept it or move on. Understand?"
"Yes, Mommy," Eun-hye said while clutching on her mother's sleeve. "But... but Daddy's being mean, isn't he?"
Jung-kook could no longer stand this exchange between his wife and his daughter. He despised the way Min-A made it seem he was the bad guy, that any conflict arising among his family was his fault. Jung-kook rarely argued, especially in front of their child, because he wanted to leave Eun-hye a good impression about their relationship, that he was a doting husband and father, and that Min-A was just a victim of circumstance.
But over time, Min-A used his weakness against him, his wife knowing full well he can't say anything because of his past. The secret that threatened to spill over if he wasn't careful enough. The secret that still haunted his dreams.
