Summary: Jonah has a bad dreamJonah's POV
A soft whimper escaped his throat, steel blue flicking rapidly under pale lids." No, stop... please," he begged, little body trembling." No... no... no!" He shot up, chest heaving and eyes wet. He bit down on his quivering lip, tears spilling over.
" Corbyn! Zach!" He cried, running out of his room. He knocked fast and hard on his door, hot tears rolling down his cheeks." Corby. Z-Zachy," he whimpered, pressing his forehead to the dark wood.
" Come in, Princess," he rushed into his room. Basically leaping onto his big brothers, they were always in same bed at night. Jonah never really knew why.
" Baby what's wrong? Why are you crying?" Zach wiped his pink cheeks, more water trickling down. Jonah didn't answer, he couldn't. His big eyes soaked, his heart pounding. He was scared, petrified.
" Baby," Corbyn voice was barely audiable, dripping in worry. Jonah tried to swallow his sobs, burying his face hard into Zach's hand. Gripping at his arm. If he let go, he might disappear.
He couldn't keep them down, no matter how hard he tried. The first was a loud, cracking cry, followed by continuous wails. The second oldest pulled him close, the youngest hiding his face completely in his chest. His heart was aching, his lungs burned.
" Jonah, come on. Calm down, Princess," Corbyn was holding both. Slowly breaking as the smallest grabbed tight fistfuls of Zach's shirt. Wailing against him.
The dream was playing on repeat, over and over and over. Constantly torturing the little boy with its dark images. The little voice echoing in his mind. They don't love you.
It grew harder to swallow. The more it spoke, the tighter his throat got. They hate you. You don't mean anything to them, you never have. They never loved you. His world was growing dark, gasping for air.
" Shit! Corbyn, I think he's having a panic attack!" The bleached blonde pulled him away from Zach, holding his ear to his chest. Lifting his small head, staring in huge, wet, horrified eyes.
" Princess, you need to calm down. Follow my breathing, focus on me. Only me." Jonah tried to listen, but blood was roaring in his ears. The voice drowned out everything. Zach could see his inner turmoil through his eyes. He was trying to fight.
" Jonah, Baby listen to us. It was just a dream. It isn't real. The voice isn't real. Focus on Corbyn's breathing. Look into his eyes, he's real, I'm real. Not them," Zach's voice was soft, slow, calm.
It's not real. They're lying to you! It's not real. They don't love you and they never will!" You aren't real," he whimpered, voice shaky. Yes I am! Don't listen to them.
" You aren't real," he repeated," you aren't real." His tone grew firmer, confident. It was faded away, the images were leaving." You aren't real." He realized, finally believing his words. The black fog was clearing, he could see them. His smiling brothers.
The numbness, it was leaving. He could feel Corbyn's legs beneath him. Zach's hand caressing his inner thigh.
" Princess? Baby, are you okay?" He could hear them. They were real, they were there.
" I-I... I had a bad d-dream." He struggled, Corbyn held his cheek, ridding the hot skin.
" We figured. Do you wanna tell us what happened?" Zach asked gently, head resting on Corbyn's shoulder, fingers still tickling his upper leg.
" W-well, it... it started off normal. I was playing with you guys, but... b-but then y-ou got up... and walked away." He stopped to take a deep breath, steel orbs beginning to burn again.
" Take your time, Baby. We're listening," Corbyn kissed his forehead, Jonah nuzzled against him." I-I... I asked where you were going. And... and you s-said you w-were leaving me. I asked why. And you said... you said you d-didn't l-love m-m-me any-anym-more." His small voice broke, thick tears soaking into the faux blonde's throat.
" P-please don't l-leave m-me. I-I-I don't... I don't wanna lose you," he sobbed. Hiding in Corbyn's neck, grabbing his shirt," please. I-I'll... I'll be good, I promise. I-I'll listen a-and I'll c-clean up m-my r-ro-om. I-I-"
" You'll never lose us." Zach promised, pulling his head gently from Corbyn's neck." We'll love you no matter what, Princess. Nothing will ever change that," the largest added, squeezing the 7 year old gently.
" Promise?" The largest brunette smiled, leaning down to kiss his lips softly." I promise, no matter what, Baby." Jonah leaned in pressing their foreheads together, he gave Zach a timid peck in return. He looked to Corbyn when they seperated.
" Corby?"
" There's not a damn thing in this world that'll keep me away from you. I'll love you 'til the day I die, Jonie. I swear on my life," he kissed the crown of his head, then his forehead.
" Promise me you'll never forget that," he whispered against his nose, moving to his lips." I'll never forget, Corby. I promise," their kiss was soft and short. The small child could feel the love in each peck, his skin tingling.
The older boys slid down the bed, laying Jonah between them. He buried his face in Zach, Corbyn hugging the middle-child's waist, pulling both close.
" Think it'll happen again?" Corbyn sighed, smiling down at the sleepy boy.
" If it does, we'll know what to do." He leaned in kissing Zach long and slow.
" Go to sleep, love. He'll be fine," the smaller nodded. Getting comfortable against the sheets.
" You're right. Night, Corbs, I love you."
" Love you, too, Z," Corbyn reached behind him, twisting the little black knob on his lamp.
" And I love you, too, Joan. We both do," Zach whispered as his big brother relaxed against his pillow. He pressed his soft lips to Jonah's forehead, seeing the younger smile in his sleep.
It wouldn't happen again. Jonah knew that for a fact. His big brothers love him, they always will. He'll never let anything convince him otherwise.
