Summary: Corbyn fears their love is like a story and they've already reached their climax
Corbyn's POV
" Hey guys! So, I promised a surprise to everyone who bought a ticket for my last show. Since I can't break a promise because that would make me a monster. I'll be singing you all my newest song. And for those who didn't make it, don't worry. This will be on my next album, but I decided to give you guys a sneak peak. So, are you ready?" His fans cheered, the blonde pop star smirked." Sorry, I can't... quite hear. Do you guys not wanna hear the song?" This response was twice as loud. The deafening clapping and yelling making his ears ring." Okay, okay. I'm just teasing, calm down." He sat in the black chair at the end of one of the arms of the stage. He popped his microphone into its stand. The beat of his song beginning to play.
' Going nowhere fast
We've reached the climax
We're together, now we're undone
Won't commit so we choose to
Run away
Do we separate? Oh
Don't wanna give in so we both gave up
Can't take it back, it's too late, we've reached the climax
Climax'
He started off high, the crowd growing silent. Most of his fans had demanded he used a larger vocal range when singing, since a lot of them loved hearing him hit high notes.
' I've fallen somehow
Feet off the ground
Love is the cloud
That keeps raining down
Where are you now?
When I need you around
I'm on my knees, but it seems we're'
He went back down, hand moving as he remembered the lyrics.
'Going nowhere fast
We've reached the climax
We're together, now we're undone
Won't commit so we choose to
Run away
Do we separate? Oh
Don't wanna give in so we both gave up
Can't take it back, it's too late, we've reached the climax
Climax'
He repeated the chorus and couldn't help, but dread the next verse. He had always struggled with it.
' I gave my best, it wasn't enough
You get upset, we argue too much
We made a mess of what used to be love
So why do I care, I care at all'
As he sang the familiar words he felt his mind drifting, like it always did when this section came. He tried to push it away, knowing he couldn't handle reliving the memory that had inspired this song.~ Three Months Ago ~
He entered his small mansion with a sigh, running his fingers through his hair. He flicked on a light, illuminating the dark room. He looked to the empty couch, sadness tugging at his heart.
~ Three Weeks Ago ~
" Baby, are you awake?" Corbyn whispered, the curly-haired boy mumbling in response. This always happened, the blonde would tell his love he would be home late. He always told Jack to go to sleep, but he insisted on waiting for him. When the pop-star did finally return, he would find the smaller fast asleep. He rolled his eyes fondly, picking the brunette up." Corby." He mumbled, nuzzling his head into the crook of his neck." Yeah, it's me, babe. Go back to sleep." He kissed his forehead, feeling his partner smile against his skin.
Stop it! He scolded, he hasn't done that in weeks, get over it! Despite the voice, he still missed it. He went into the kitchen, opening the microwave to find his food. Jack cooked dinner every night and they would usually eat together, but that had stopped when tour season came back. He instinctively looked for a sticky-note. His boyfriend used to always write him cute little messages.
~ Two Weeks Ago ~
Sorry I couldn't stay down and wait for you. The couch is starting make my back hurt. But anyway, eat and hurry upstairs. I wanna cuddle.
~ Jack♡He chuckled at the words, folding the piece of paper and carefully slipping it in his pocket. Making a mental note to add it to the others.
He sighed and put the container in the fridge. His appetite gone. He turned off all the lights downstairs and made his way to the second level of the house. He opened the door to his room, soft snores filled the air. He moved quietly to their closet, reaching for a red and white box once the light was on. He opened it, looking over a few of the notes his baby had written.
