Before I could sign to Def Jam, me and my mother were site seeing around New York. We went to Time Square, Manhattan, Central Park and we walked on the bridge. She started to talk about my career.

"So you're absolutely sure about this?" Katherine said.

"Yeah, ma. It's the only desire I've been dreaming about." I said.

"You know, being a celebrity is a lot of hard work, just like in school. You're gonna be a lot of pressure being famous and you're gonna have to deal with a lot of hate." Katherine said.

"I've been dealing with that all my life, mom. It's not any worse, than people watching you." I said.

"Honey, I just want you to be sure that you take this seriously and be careful in the music industry. Fame can be hell, sometimes." She said.

"I promise. I won't let the fame get to me." I said.

"Alright, baby." She said as she hugged me.

The next day, I went in to a recording studio, I look at the engine buttons and went inside the vocal booth. I put my headphones on and start spitting some flow with my mom and Alexander watching me.

"Ms. Cawthron, your boy is ready." He said.

"Yes, he is." Katherine said.

We went back to Def Jam Recordings and I signed my first deal.

"Welcome to Def Jam, Lysander." Paul said.

One year later, when I turn 17 years old, I recorded a track for Def Jam's compilation album, "Undisputed." Where all the upcoming rappers who been signed to Def Jam are on it, YK Osiris, YFL Kelvin, TJ Porter, Sneakk, Dominic Lord S3nsi, and Lil Brook. He had are own concert where each of us perform one by one. I was very close to YK Osiris who has a 1# hit "Worth It." That shit is blowing up the radio.

"Yo, what's up, Maxx? You good?" YK said.

"Yeah, man. I'm good." I said as I looked at the crowd which was a little big than my smaller crowd. "This is a little bigger than my usual crowd." I relieved

"I guess you might wanna hit this, G. It'll calm your nerve." He said as he gave me a blunt.

I enhailed the blunt and exhaled it out.

"Thanks, man. I needed that." I said.

"Alright! Alright! Alright! Y'all ready for the next performer?!" The announcer said.

"Yeah!!" The crowd yelled.

"Okay! The next performer came straight from ATL, Georgia!  He can rap, he sing, he can headbang. I want y'all to make some noise for Maxx Misfit!!" The announcer yelled.

I walked out and looked at the crowd. My anxiety start to fade away after I smoke the blunt. And I start to perform my rap/rock song on the album.

"I was terrorist for white people. Kicking ass, causing havoc, giving black eyes. It was a way to get my momma attention. By getting a tough talk and a ass whoopong. I suppose I'm a child of Lucifer, but I dont give a fuck. I'm out here boxing niggas on WorldStar. We gonna have to protest and tear the city up and I dont really care cause we Fuck up the State! Fuck up the state! Fuck up the state!" I performed with a lot of energy and the crowd started a moshpit. Some of the attendees even got on the stage and start getting hype.

"I knew he had it in him." Alexander said as he watches me perform.

YK even smiled at me and how I got the crowd lit. In Georgia, Peanut was listening to the Undisputed album and he found out that I'm on the album and he freak out.

"Oh shit, that's Ly! Yo, Cody, Stan. Its Lysander. " Peanut said.

"What?" Cody said while he listen to the song.

"Dude, that is Ly!" Stan said.

"That shit fire!" Cody said smoking on a weed.

Once, I made it back home to Georgia, I was wondering and minding my own business and I saw a group of people standing in front of a Shell's Gas Station filming a music video. I went over to check it out and see if I can be an extra. It was a music video for an un sign rapper named, Elmer E-Rock. He had his whole crew with him on the set.

"Yo, yo, yo, dawg. What you doing, here?" Elmer E-Rock said stopping me.

"I'm here to be an extra." I said.

"What's your name, young blood?" he said while smoking a blunt.

"Maxx Misfit." I said.

"Maxx Misfit? Where have I heard that name before." he said.

"Yo, do you say, Maxx Misfit?" one of his crew member said.

"Yeah." I said.

"Oh shit, that's the nigga with the fire track on UNDISPUTED." he said.

"What? You're that nigga on that track?" Elmer E-Rock said.

"Mhm." I nodded.

"Dude, I thought that shit was fire. You wanna be in the video?" he asked.

"Sure." I said while I was put in the background ready to shoot the video.

After the video shoot, E-Rock gave me some advice on being the upcoming rapper. He told me that I always gotta start on the bottom before making it to the top and don't let record labels take advantage of me. So I took his advice. Days later, I start hanging out of my old friends again and they threw me a celebration party at apartment for my song being on a Def Jam album. At the party I got into a confrontation with a party goer and we got into a fight. The party goers look at the fight and recorded me on their phones. The police came by for noise complaint and they shut down the party. I've been getting in to more fights with people at my small concerts with fans and my manager saw the videos on Worldstar and YouTube. He video chat me and told me no more fights or its gonna ruin my image and career so I won't go back to juvie. I've been writing more music and recording. I decided to film a music for my new song called, "Drugz." Me, Peanut, Stanley, Cody and some other of my friends from school who is a camera crew wanted to film the music video. I decide to film it inside of Wall-Mart, the store was about to close and no customers where there. A woman who one of the employees told us not to skate inside. We bought all of our equipment and the manager told us we got ten minutes to film the video before the store close. We filmed it on the frozen food section and Peanut, Stanley and Cody were in the video with my other friends in the background. I start filming more videos at my old school, near the church and my room. I was even featured on a track called, "Chauffeur", by Taylor Knicks. I was recording for my first commercial mixtape and I had no idea what name to call it. When Stanley and Cody were at a high school party, they did maximum cocaine, Xanax and heavy drinking. Later on, Cody passed out and stop breathing. The partygoers were panicking that a boy died in the party and one of them called 911. Cody died on his way to the hospital. After I got the news I was devastated and start throwing things in my room, my mom came to my room and confront me. I went to Cody's funeral and Peanut was there. He told me that Stanley went to rehab and couldn't attend. After awhile, I finish recording my project and called my first commercial mixtape, "We All Die At The End 2." in honoring Cody.
