Four weeks of recovery. I decided to record music about difficult personal issues, including my troubled relationship, drug dependance and heartbreak situations. Good thing, X-Ray brought his studio set. Most of the songs I record in the cabin. Even though are month rent here in the cabin is up. We drove to Toronto and found a studio. We decided to be lock in the recording studio for 2 months, but we're still gonna eat. Even though I was recording new music. I even had the other guys record their own stuff too. In the studio I had Noah 40 Shebib, T-Minus, PARTYNEXTDOOR and Bo1-da who produce Drake music. I called Key Wane, Vinyz, RD and TM88 to come here in Toronto to make beats for the songs. I called Alexander to come up here to listen to the songs. Once he got up here, I played the songs for him while he had Paul on the speaker phone to listen to the songs too. They both love the songs and it was like my old material. I went back on Instagram and post images from Ontario, Canada and uploaded a header of the CN Tower and posted "I'll be releasing three albums this year. #HeartbreakTorontoTrilogy." Each of the three albums have 12 tracks. My persona for the albums was myself.
The first album of the trilogy was called, "TRIFLIN." The first single was called, "Be With Me." I shot the video inside the CN Tower with a guitar. The song was about, "Janey" and about taking her back and forgiveness. It had an acoustic folk vibe to it. The second single was "Speed for Life." and it was about my drug problems. The album features Lil Skies, Rooftop, Landon Cube, Gunna and Gucci Mane. Triflin received mixed reviews, but it was known for my best and most influential work. It went #4 on the charts in America. #11 in the United Kingdom and #1 in Canada.
The second album of the trilogy was, "Again." The first song was Single Again. The music video was filmed in a suburban neighborhood in Toronto with kids chasing a truck. The main plot of the video was me being guilty in the court of public opinion, as the video finds me standing trial in a society that locks its citizens up for allegedly cheating on their significant others. The video also has Keith Powers and Vanessa Morgan as the stars of the video. The track has Jhene Aiko and Ty Dolla $ign as the backup vocals. The song reach #1 on the Hip Hop Chart. The album feature Kanye West, James Blunt and Chantel Kreviazuk who was a Canadian singer. Most of her fans were upset that she collaborated a song with me. Devil Love was the second single that did poorly on the charts, but the third single, "She The Life of The Party featuring featuring Chantel Kreviazuk hit #1 on the charts, the video featured me and my love interest on a date and Chantel was the club singer in the video. The album was well received by the critics and Rolling Stones named it Album of the Year and was a major commercial success.
The third and last album of the trilogy was, "UnBroken." The album cover features a postcard of me being bruised up and laying on the floor. Most of the song was r&b and electronic. It features Travis Barker, Young Thug, Travis Scott, 2 Chainz, PARTYNEXTDOOR and Majid Jordan The first single was, "DJ" Diplo produce the track. The video featured me strolling down in Philadelphia attracting a crowd of curious passer-by. It even has Diplo in the video with me and him destroying Dj studio. The track wasn't too commercial for the chart. It was pretty much the lowest chart songs on the album. The second single was, "Come Back" featuring Majid Jordan the track was a synthpop mixed with R&B. The video was most likely a short filmed that was shot in Miami and the plot was about ransom and kidnapping. My character tries to rescue the girl from the kidnapper. This song as the only track that was popular on the album. The third one was, "Look Back In Anger." It had mixed reputation and failed the chart.
Five weeks later, the three albums came with collective box set. I made my first public performance at the BET Awards performing, Single Again, Come Back and DJ. Janey was even watching my performance and she knew I was sing to her by the lyrics. I even performed again at the MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City, New York with "Be With Me and Single Again." I won for Best Hip Hop Artist and for Best Rap Song. I got up on stage accept my award and gave out my speech.
"Thank you. You know I was in a really rough place and I had to find myself in a better place and put a lot of heart and soul on these albums. I just wanna thank Noah, TM88 and mostly everyone who worked on these albums and thank you for my fans." I said as the crowd cheered and clap.
Back in Los Angeles, I went back walking and I saw Janey who's now an artist. She was doing an art project inside. I wanted to go in talk to her, but she was busy. At night, I went back and I saw her colleagues walking out and she was about to close the building. I was wearing a hoodie. She saw me outside the building and she let me in. I talk to her and explained.
"I don't know what else to do, but be real with you. I fucked up." I said as Janey had her hands folded with a straight face.
"Yeah you did." Janey said.
"I missed being home with you. I got caught up in some bullshit. I'll never fucked up again, Jay Jay." I said as I got up and hold her hand.
"Jay, I don't know what else to say. I just wanna come home. If I was your best friend..." I try to cheer her up with my old song she use to like.
"Stupid." Janey chuckled.
"There's that smile. Forgive me, Jay? Hmm?" I said.
"Whatever." Janey said as she kiss me and we both fell on the chair.
"Oh shit! See what you did. I love you, Janey" I chuckled.
"I love you, too." Janey said as we kissed and brush up against her legs. We then have make up sex in the building.
