"What's up ley" David said sitting next to Leyanna at the desk, he came in late from working on the ref center with s couple people he as already hired and began getting the place ready
He noticed ley wasn't really excited
"Hey, what's wrong with you?" He asked her nudging her arm a bit
"My mommy in the hospital."
"In the hospital? What happened? Is she okay?"
She shrugged "I dunno, but my mommy was passed out and my auntie mani came and got me and took me to grandmas house. They were screaming"
"Who was screaming?" He asked trying to understand her story
"My mommy and daddy, they always do it"
"Your mom is in the hospital because your dad? Hit her?" He asked for clarification
She nodded and continued to draw
"Yes, he always hits her, sometimes for no reason, like they'll be in the kitchen then all of a sudden they fight, and my mommy yells at me to go upstairs so I wont hear, but I do, they be yelling st each other and he putting his hands on her"
He didn't know what to think, he doesn't have a stereotype of women who are being abused but he wouldn't think she would be the type to deal with something like that.
"Does he put his hands on you?" He asked
She shook her head "no, but one time he took me to the park and he tripped over me, I don't know if that counts, but I got a bruise, it was on my knee"
He chuckled a little at her rambling
"Hey Leyanna" a couple girls said walking up to the table with Leslie along with them
"Hi..." she said shyly
"Wanna play a game?" "What game?.."
"Were gonna play cops and robbers, and we need another robber"
"Sure" She said happily before putting her colored pencil down
"Sorry Davey, I'm gonna go play, I'll be back over before I leave" she said quickly getting up and running off with the girls
I looked over st jay who was talking to a couple little boys
"Look, y'all may be 5/6 but I whoop kids who ain't mine, try me" be saod with his dukes up sitting on the floor
"Get him" one of the boys said before they all attacked him, with his dramatic ass he was asking for help
After most the kids left dave was gonna go down to the rec and get everything situated, and head to practice, he already ordered everything for the rec and got enough workers to even get the place functioning, now he just really needed to talk to middle schools and high schools about bringing kids
The class door opened and some hooded person along with a nice looking dark skin women walked in
He saw the purple hair hanging from the hoodie and knew it was jordynn
