When I woke up I heard laughing and talking from the vents, I turned to my side to see Leyanna wasn't in the bed anymore, I sat up rubbing my eyes and looked around the room before getting up and heading downstairs
When I was going down the stairs I heard loud talking and the smell of breakfast quickly filled my nose
I saw Chris and David's nephew and niece, mani, jay and Milan in the living room talking and david and Leyanna in the kitchen
I walked into the kitchen and David saw me and gave me a small smile "well good morning" he said to me making Leyanna turn around
"Morning mommy! It's my birthday" she said hopping off the counter, I bent down as she came over to hug me and I picked her up "ohh i know its your birthday today baby, happy birthday babygirl" I kissed her cheek and she smiled "thank you mommy, I got some presents, wanna see?" "You got presents?" I asked looking st David, he nodded and I looked back at her "they're in the closet, but David said we have to wait until you wake up to open them, so come on let's open them mommy I wanna see!" I laughed a little st her excitement and put her down and she ran off into the hall way, I stood next to David as he cooked some pancakes
"Did you get her presents?"
"Yea, well we all did, I just used my card" he smiled, I shook my head and smiled "you didn't have to buy her presents, were already staying st your house we don't need to be spending your money too"
"I didn't have to buy her anything, but I wanted too. It's her 5th birthday, I put your name on some things, so act like you know what's in it when she opens them" he said flipping the pancake
"You're to nice, David, thank you." He asked it his arm out and I leaned in laying my head on his chest "what'd I tel you about thanking me? You do it too much"
"I know I'm sorry, I'mma work on th-"
"Well howdy, jordynn..." I turned seeing the kid from the rec center leaned against the kitchen island staring st me
"Uh, hi." I said giving him a smile
"Happy day of birth to you, nobody ever tells the mother that, which I don't know why since she brought this life on the planet." He said pointing to Leyanna pull a big black bag into the living room
"A very strong life at that." He looked back st me "so, what are your plans for today? You trying to hangout with a real one?" He asked getting closer, I laughed a little at his adorableness
"I'd love to hangout with you, but I'm busy today, maybe some other time?" "What plans to got? Or you just ditching out on me?"
David laughed a little "well todays my daughters birthday and I'm spending time with her today, so I'm sorry...what's your name sweetie?"
He flashed a quick smile "Kenny"
"I'm sorry Kenny, today I can't go out in a date with you, how about some other time? I promise I'm not flaking out, I'm just busy today"
He nodded his head
"Aight, aight cool, I guess it makes sense for you to hangout with ya girl on her birthday..you coming to the rec soon tho?"
"Mommy! Hurry up!" I heard Leyanna yell, I looked over seeing her sitting on the couch with everyone else waiting
We all walked over and sat on the couch as she dug through the bag and began ripping open the presents
