(After season 3...)
"So what do you kids think?" Joyce said, getting out of the car and looking at the house.
"Not bad mom." Jonathan replied, locking eyes with Will and El before grabbing a box.
El sighed and walked into the house, looking around. She looked down at the blue band on her wrist, feeling the tears brimming in her eyes. "You okay?" Will asked, walking to El's side, a box in his hands.
She nodded slightly and went to grab a box of her things, discreetly managing to wipe her eyes. Joyce led El to one of the bedrooms, helping her bring her boxes in and setting them down. "I'll let you unpack, sweetie." Joyce said softly, slowly pulling the girl into her arms. "It's okay, I got you." Joyce couldn't help but feel a tinge of guilt, her actions being the cause of El's tears in her mind.
El nodded slightly and closed the door, beginning to unpack her belongings. She placed her walkie-talkie on her nightstand, quickly checking the batteries and placing the spares in the drawer below. She taped Mike's poster to her wall, placed her stuffed animal on the bed and her music player on the dresser. After putting away the rest of her belongings, she lastly placed Hopper's note in the nightstand drawer. She let herself fall onto the bed, the tears in her eyes threatening to fall. All she wanted was her dad alive and her boyfriend hugging her close.
"El?"
She looked up to see Will standing in the doorway. "Yes?" El quickly wiped her eyes.
Will sat next to her on the bed and gently hugged her, "It'll be okay. You got us." He had a new found sympathy for El, now considering her more of a sister than a friend.
El nodded a little, gladly accepting Will's embrace. She let her tears fall for a moment before wiping her eyes. "Thank you."
He smiled, "Come on, mom is going to make dinner soon once she gets the water-"
"I got the water running!" Joyce shouted happily, making both teens giggle.

El laid curled up in her new bed, watching the rain drops roll down the window. She held her stuffed animal to her chest, the lightning from the storm reflecting in her chocolate coloured eyes. She jumped at the sound of the thunder, whining and curling into her blankets more. All she wanted was Mike at her side and he wasn't there. El looked at her nightstand, quickly grabbing her walkie-talkie and pressing the button.
"Mike? M-Mike are you there?" She shut her eyes and sighed, "Please."
"Hey its okay, I"m here." Mike replied, shifting to lay on his side with his walkie-talkie.
El smiled and closed her eyes, "Hi." She reached over and closed the blinds, blocking out the flashes of lightning.
"Hi beautiful." Mike replied gently, grinning at the sound of her soft, sweet voice. "Are you okay? How was the drive?"
"It was good," she sighed, burying her head in her stuffed animal, "I can't sleep. The storm."
Mike sighed, "I know. Its storming here too." He went quiet for a moment before saying, "I miss you."
"I miss you more," El replied immediately, giggling softly. "I wish you were here..."
Mike sighed and went silent for a minute. "I wish I was with you. I know how much you don't like storms. I remember when it would storm and you'd call me over."
She couldn't help but smile a little, "And you'd come over and climb through the window, leaving water all over my bedroom floor."
"Yeah, and I had like 20 jackets on but I was still soaking wet by the time I came over. But it didn't matter because I was with you."
El giggled softly, letting her eyes fall closed, "And you'd lay with me and we'd watch movies and talk."
"Exactly, and kiss." Mike grinned, and said more to himself than El. "God I miss your kisses."
"I heard that." El said simply, a grin on her lips and a light blush creeping along her cheekbones.
Mike's cheeks turned red and he shut his eyes, "Well shit." He rubbed the back of his neck, mentally cursing himself for the slip up.
El laughed softly, "Are you blushing, Mike?" She knew Mike far too well, knowing he was one to get embarrassed by things like this.
"Nope not at all," He replied, his voice sounding slightly strained, a grin plastered on his face.
Both teens broke into a fit of laughter. El had completely forgotten about the storm, Mike being the perfect distraction.
"Mike I miss you." El said softly, her voice gentle and soft.
Mike sighed, "I miss you too El, but I'll see you soon. And in the meantime, I can call you whenever."
"But its not the same."
He shut his eyes for a moment before replying, "I know. I know its not. But you have me El, and I have you. So it'll all be okay. And when I see you, I'm going to give you the biggest hug and as many kisses as you want."
"Promise?" She asked softly, a smile on her lips.
Mike grinned, remembering the memory of how he and the rest of the party (minus Will) had taught El the meaning behind the word. "I promise El. Now get some sleep, please?"
"You get some sleep too." El replied, curling up under the covers.
"Goodnight El," Mike smiled and hesitated for a moment, "I love you."
"I love you too," She replied, a grin on her lips. "Goodnight." She placed her walkie-talkie down, closing her eyes and hugging her stuffed animal close. Mike was the one thing on her mind and she now knew that though she couldn't see him in person for a while, he was still there and loved her and missed her as much as she missed him.
And thats my first oneshot base off of after season 3. Hope you enjoyed.
