Panic fueled the adrenaline pumping through her veins. She zoomed out of bed and ran to change into fresh clothes and attempt managing her hair. Then a realization hit her. She can just call Livvy and ask what is happening. She facepalmed herself and went back over to the bed, plopping right back onto the mattress.

"Show me Livvy Sonden." The imparter started to make a dial sound, then Livvy's face appeared on the screen.

"Good Morning Sophie." She smiled, tough her hair was extremely disheveled and large dark circles laid under her eyes.

"What happened? Why did you call me twice?" Sophie stuttered out.

"Relax." Livvy asked. "Everyone is okay over here."

"You see, that's not a real answer."

"Fine. Someone got into Foxfire."

"WHAT!?!?!"

"Like I said, no one was hurt. Nothing is missing either. We just saw something moving around outside and heard a weird noise. But that could have been any number of things."

"So, why did you call me?"

"At the time, Tam was the first to wake up. He started freaking out-"

"Freaking out how?"

"Well, he was breathing really heavily. Like a pant, almost. Then he started talking nonsense."

"What kind of nonsense?"
"Just the same two phrases over and over. "He's here." and 'They know."

"Know what?"

"We have no clue. But he started to seem like he was about to try to run away. If he kept it up he would have hurt himself, so we were gonna try to see if you could transmit to him to get him to calm down. When you didn't respond we used the alternative."

"I think I know what that was." Sophie huffed.

"Yeah, a sedative." Livvy confirmed.

"Is he still out?"

"Yeah, but it is starting to wear off."

"Do you think I could, maybe come by today?"

"Sure, just so long as he still gets his rest. But the panic in no way affected his recovery."

"That's a relief."

"Indeed it is." Livvy's voice trailed off, lost in thought. "Come over in about, 90 minutes or so. That way the sedative will be mostly worn off by then." In response, Sophie nodded just before Livvy's face clicked of the Imparter.

The next hour and a half flew by faster then Silveny's plummet when she goes to teleport. Between eating her breakfast and helping outside, the time passed in an instant. It went so quickly that Sophie even almost forgot to leave when the time came. She ran up the stairs, anticipating what was to come. She borderline eagerly called for the crystal to Foxfire when she made it upstairs to the Leapmaster, but not the kind of egar you get when you are expecting something good. It was the kind of eagerness that came when you were extremely worried about what you were about to do, and she was no stranger to the feeling. She took a large step forward and let the light carry her to the glittering academy.

"Good to see you came as well." A familiar voice called to Sophie as soon as she reached Foxfire's entrance. She whipped her head around to see Wylie standing there, dressed in white-and-silver clothing.

"Hey Wylie." Sophie almost grinned. " What are you doing around here?"

"Same as you I assume." He smiled back. "Visiting a friend."

"Did Livvy fill you in on what happened?"

"Yeah. I tried to convince her to come earlier. But she insisted I wait a while."

"Do you really think it was just the shadows playing a trick on their eyes? Do you believe her that it was just the wind making that noise?"

"Not really. I have come to find that where shadows stir is where the Neverseen are typically lurking. Waiting."

"Stalking their prey." They concluded in unison. A look of surprise on each one's face.

"You didn't...?" Wylie began to ask, but Sophie cut him off.

"Nope. I wouldn't do that in a situation like this. That was a line in one of my favorite books back in the Forbidden Cities. If it were something more dire, I would."

"If it comes to that you have my full permission."

As if on a stage cue Livvy opened the door and saved them from any awkwardness that was brewing. She brought them inside and led them to the Healing Center, explaining that it was no big deal. Wylie and Sophie looked at each other, both were clearly thinking that there is rarely such a thing as 'no big deal'. They soon reached the door to the room that Sophie had spent almost as much time in as she did at Havenfield. Tam was sitting up in the same cot he was in before, and Biana was sitting in a chair next to him.

"Biana, you're still here?" Sophie asked, more then surprised she hadn't been kicked out by now.

"Yeah, I came later on yesterday and by the time I had been ready to go, it was dark. So I stayed here and slept in one of the cots."

"And we're very lucky she did." Livvy chimed in. " She calmed him down enough for us to give him the sedative."

"Did-" Sophie began, but Tam cut her off.

"Yes, I agreed to it."

"Sure you did, after a lot of convincing." Biana smiled, Tam rolled his eyes. "Hey, it's not my fault that it took a while to get you to stop talking gibberish."

"You guys still aren't gonna tell me what I said are you?"

"You don't remember?" Wylie asked.

"Not really. I don't remember much from before the sedative. "

"The drug did have a few memory loss properties, so that makes sense." Livvy confirmed.

"What do you remember?" Wylie asked, looking slightly worried.
"I remember waking up and panicking, and I had the odd feeling that I needed to run asap. Then just a repeat of the same feeling of panic over and over. Once Biana woke up she started to get me to relax. I eventually got, somewhat, back in control of myself then she was talking about the sedative they wanted to give me. The last I can recall is someone pouring the unnaturally sweet liquid down my throat and Biana saying that I would be okay. She told me to just sleep." Tam explained, and a small chuckle escaped Sophie's lips before she could stop it.

"What?" Tam questioned.

"Nothing. It's just; Fitz transmitted the same thing to me back when Elwin sedated me after I was found alive from the Neverseen attack. " Sophie responded.

"Don't remind me." Elwin added, coming out of one of his other offices to join the others. "That was one of the worst experiences of my life, and that's saying something."

"I'm still sorry about that by the way."
Sophie apologized for the millionth time while her cheeks turned red.

"Not at all." Elwin laughed, and Sophie smiled back at him. She glanced over at Tam, who was going slightly pale. So she casually walked over to the general range of his shadow and leaned up against the wall.
