Hey guys! Fist things first: ONLY 14 DAYS UNTIL LEGACY COMES OUT!! TWO WEEKS BABY! In case you cant tell:I'm hyped. But that brings me to my question. Do you want me to continue with this story even after Legacy comes out? I have a lot of plot left and the story is just beginning to unfold. But the story does take place before Legacy and after Flashback. Just let me know. Anyways, sorry for updating so late in the night (at least in my time zone). This isn't very late for me, because tbh I dont sleep all that much, but it's really late for most people. Anyways, I hope you like the update! Sorry it's a bit short. And, as always, Enjoy!
_________________________________________He was a good fighter, but that was no surprise. She'd seen him in their battles with the neverseen, he could do more then he let on. He had a counter for every move she made, but then again so did she. Sophie decided to reserve special abilities for a last resort. Partially because he couldn't exactly use his in a fight; but also because she didn't exactly enjoy inflicting pain on people. So the fight continued, both Fitz and herself landing a few good punches on each other.
Punch. Dodge. Kick. Dodge. Repeat. Punch. Dodge. Kick. Dodge. Repeat.
It went on for quite a while before Sophie got slightly sick of the routine, she still went with it, until she completely lost all patience. Before her common sense and logic could stop her, she collected up all of her hidden emotions, and inflicted them. The next few seconds went by as if in slow motion. Shock ran over Fitz's face for a mere millisecond, before it was replaced with pain. He fell to the ground, holding his head and screaming in pain. Once she registered what was happening she stopped inflicting and dropped to her knees next to Fitz, curled up into a ball on the floor. "Fitz, I'm so sorry I-" He held up a hand and cut her off, the other still clutching his head. He started to sit up, his entire body shaking, and she gently wrapped her arms around him, her heart splintering into a million pieces when she saw the tear rolling down his check. He leaned back against her arms, breathing heavily to calm down. "Come on Fitz, please say something." She whispered, holding him ever-so-slightly closer.
"I yield." He smiled, finally opening his eyes. He slowly lifted himself to sit on his own, only for her to pounce with him in a hug.
"Fitz, I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me. I just," If she kept talking she would cry for sure. He didn't say anything in return, her just wrapped his arms around her and held on as she tried to regain her composure.
"It's okay Sophie. I'm okay. Let's just have someone oversee the sparring in the future, deal?" She nodded in response but didn't let go of his hug. Fitz didn't seem to mind that she didn't let go, he just pulled her closer and sat still until she pulled away first, which she didn't do for a while.
"I didn't mean to hurt you." She whispered with glassy eyes after finally pulling out of the embrace. He grabbed her hand and met her eyes.
"I know." He gave her a soft smile. "Do you want to go home?" She sat and thought for a second before nodding. With her answer he stood and lifted her to her feet. They walked out of the gym, hand in hand, and by the time they made it halfway to the Leap Master, she noticed how he seemed more exhausted than usual. They didn't do anything extremely strenuous, so he shouldn't be this tired.
