So I'm on time for ONE chapter then I get off by a few days again? Sorry. I've been extremely busy (again) and I wanted to do well with ending this chapter this time. I'm also working on a piece for the KotLC fanbase summer art competition (I might post the piece, let me know if you'd like to see it!), which is keeping me really occupied. Sorry again, and please dont kill me for this cliffhanger!Enjoy!

So… Fitz transmitted once she was settled against the wall.

He just wants us to take things seriously because he thinks that if we don't we won't make it through one of these fights. He's trying to protect us.

Huh, I never thought of him as the protective type.

Me neither, but he told me why and..lets just say he makes a lot more sense now.

What do you mean?

I mean that he deals with a lot more than he lets on. Did you know he was the one to tell Grady and Edaline when we were attacked?

No, I hadn't really thought of that...

"I hate to be a killjoy." Livvy began, interrupting their telepathic conversation. "But we should really let Tam rest."

"I feel fine." Tam assured them. Just as Elwin was about to argue Fitz cut him off.

"Trust me when I say it's best to do what they tell you. Livvy and Elwin are just doing what's best, and they always win the argument in the end." No one could seem to find their voice out of surprize that Fitz was the one to say that, and Sophie could have sworn that Elwin was blushing. Fitz must have noticed too, because his cheeks turned slightly pink and he shrugged. " I'm speaking from experience here. There is no point wasting your energy on fighting them."

"Listen to Fitz." Sophie agreed. "We both know a thing or two about fighting against Elwin and Livvy's final decisions."

"Your friends speak the truth." Livvy chuckled. "I'll make you a deal, if you agree to get some rest we will let one of them stay here with you."

"Deal." Tam sighed.

"I'll stay." Linh volunteered, then Biana walked over and whispered something that only Linh could hear.  Whatever she said had made Linh's cheeks turn strawberry red, then when she whispered another sentence that no one else could hear Linh nodded and stood.

"I've got it." Biana smiled. Linh moved to stand next to Wylie as everyone said goodbye to Tam and were sheep-herded outside.

"Can I talk to you?" Sophie asked Elwin as he was about to slide back into the Healing Center.

"Sure, and I assume I know what this about." Elwin agreed nodding his head toward the door. Sophie shook her head yes and Elwin began talking again. " Just so long as he lets himself rest and get better, he will be okay. Physically anyway, mentally may be a different story."

"So, he'll be able to walk again?"

"Most likely. I can't make any promises, because I don't know exactly how his recovery will go, and he will be temporarily paralyzed for sure. But I like his chances." Sophie wanted to dance around in glee at the wave of hope Elwin just hit her with, but then she realized what he said earlier.
