Oh, come on. You guys didn't think I was that mean, did you? (; Here's a bit more of the story, bc y'all deserve it. And just a warning, this is where crap gets real.
In some of the coming chapters it's gonna get...dark. Really dark. Kinda sorta gorey, bc some bad stuff happens *tries not to give spoilers*. So I'll try to remember to add in disclaimers at the beginning of thoose chapters. But, here's a warning in advance. Anyways, hope you like the story! Also: this is rare. The 2 updates in one day thing isn't gonna happen often, so enjoy it while is lasts. Finally, as always, Enjoy!

"Wakey wakey." A voice called nearby, while snapping directly in front of her face. She could feel her eyes open, but she knew she never actually opened them. Everything hurt, especially her leg. It seemed like the world was consumed by shadows, just like the nightmare. She knew the pain wasn’t hers, but that didn’t make it any less real. Just like the nightmare. The shadows were slowly fading, but for some reason it felt like they were putting up a fight.

       Wait.

       Shadows.

This didn't feel like it was her memory because it wasn't.

        It was Tam's.

The rest of his memory came back.

That's why he passed out; the shadow flux that was protecting him from the memory couldn't hold it back anymore. It was too much all at once, he couldn't take it. But why did she pass out too? She was pulled out of her thoughts when the voice from Tam's memory spoke again.

"Why hello there." Tam turned his head towards the voice to see Gethen sitting next to him, a sinister smile on his face. Tam saw no one else in the room, but that didn’t necessarily mean they were alone.  Alvar could be there, or someone else hiding in the shadows. "You get enough beauty rest there, Bangs Boy?"

"Don’t call me Bangs Boy." Tam responded, his voice scratchy. Only his friends were allowed to call him Bangs Boy.  Gethen’s smile grew wider and more creepy.

"I thought you would’ve liked me using that nickname, make you feel more at home. Safe. With your friends." Something about the way he said friends put Tam on edge.

"What have you done to them?" He glared at Gethen, anger boiling inside him.

"Me? Oh, I’ve done nothing. Your friends are safe." The anger lessened as a bit of relief rushed through him, but that changed when Gethen spoke again. "For now."

"What do you mean ‘for now’?"  He tried not to let his fear show, but from Gethen’s  expression he knew he had failed.

Gethen chuckled. "Oh, and why would I tell you that?" He wore a cruel grin as he stood and walked over to table. There was a sound of metal against metal, but Tam couldn’t see what the noise was coming from.

"Why are you doing this?" He asked, regaining Gethen’s attention. Gethen turned to him and smiled his terrifying smile.

"Tam, I thought you were smart. Can’t you guess?" He started walking towards Tam, one hand behind his back. Tam didn’t want to know what he was holding behind him, but he had a funny feeling he was going to find out. His silence was answer enough.

"You sabotaged the mission. Do you really think we could just let that slide?"

"But it was just one mission-"

"And the mission before. As well as the one before that. Shall I go on?" Gethen interrupted, and Tam could see a wild glint in his eyes.
"But they all still worked out."

"Sure, no thanks to you." He could hear the scowl in Gethen’s voice even without seeing it on his face. "We’ve just decided you’re more trouble than you’re worth. We have no more uses for you. Well, maybe one more use."

"What use is that?" He couldn’t stop his voice from trembling. Gethen chuckled and pulled his hand from behind his back. Tam’s breath caught as he saw the blade in Gethen’s hand. The shamkniv. He had seen that weapon a lot in his time with the Neverseen, and even before then. He couldn’t stop the memories from coming back. Seeing Biana after Vesperea had gotten to her at Nightfall was one of the hardest things he’d ever dealt with, and he’d lived with the Neverseen. That was one of the few times he’d actually sobbed, full out sobbed. He left to protect her. He claimed it was for Linh, but it was really for Biana. The only thing that kept him from giving up, was Biana. Maybe a little bit for his sister, but mostly for Biana.

He was dragged out of his thoughts when Gethen suddenly pinned his chest with his knee. "We kill you. Use your death to make your friends to lose hope." His sinister grin was sickening. "So," He pulled the shamkniv up to Tam's neck. "Ready for round two?"
