Arthit's POV

That man continues to surprise me. He went from serious to easy going to hot effortlessly. Is it just me, or is anyone else hot and bothered.

Ugh, come on Arthit. You've got things to take care of.

Thak has been a life saver. He dropped me off at the only phone repair shop I know of.

"Your luck is out buddy." The kid with the name tag Oak says.

"What do you mean? The phone is less than a year old. It's practically still new."

"Well, your brand new phone over heated, and burnt the sim card along with it." The kid says rolling his eyes, which was magnified by his two inches thick lens.

"How can that happen? I didn't do anything to it."

"Well, I hope you have warranty on it."

"Hmm, I'm going to have to find out. Thanks."

I walked out feeling defeated again. Chet had bought both our phones from a friend of his for a discount. At the time, I had a three year old iPhone that was still working fine, but Chet convinced me that it was too outdated. And I agreed that the continuous updates made the phone slower than before, but it still worked nonetheless. Ugh, must I now question all my life choices.

If all that praying my mom did couldn't turn me straight, maybe Chet has finally done it. My mom should probably thank him.

I guess I will have to get all my contacts from my laptop in the office. The only person's number I know by heart other than Chet is Knot. What should I do? Should I really go kick his wife out of her own bed? I know Neem wouldn't mind, but I wouldn't want to make her mother uncomfortable either.

The poor woman already has to have frequent kidney dialysis. Their whole family is already financially, physically, and mentally drained by the disease. I wish I was in a position to help them after what they've done for me.

Where should I go? That is the million dollar question. Maybe if I ask Kongpob nicely, he will let me stay for the weekend. I hope. He seems really nice, so I think he would let me stay. Maybe. Well, since I'm already at the mall. I might as well get some new boxers. Maybe I can call Chet to see if he will at least give me my boxers back.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

"Hello. Who is this?"

"Chet, I need more of my stuff back."

"Arthit?"

"Who else? I need my stuff. You didn't pack anything that I can actually use."

"Well, I'm not home right now."

"What about Popeye?"

"I left him with a friend."

"I want... hello?"

That fucking bastard hung up on me. How the hell did I spend five fucking years with an asshole like that? Not even for a second did he even bother to ask if I was okay, or where I spent the night. Was I blind all these years?

Why am I not on top of a mountain, or somewhere where I can scream at the top of my lungs out. Whoever is writing my fate should put me there instead of the mall.

I guess I will have to buy a couple of boxers after all. I only have 100 bahts, so I must be careful how I spend it. I need to make it till Monday when the bank opens so I can get some money.

After buying two pairs of super cheap boxers, I am left with 50 bahts. I should probably just live on bread for the rest of this weekend. On a side note, I saw those boxers Kongpob was wearing. They cost like 500 bahts each. That's too rich for my blood, but they do look comfortable on him. I guess...eh. Don't go there Arthit.

I guess I should head back. Should I call Thak, or should I go back by myself? Idiot. Of course I need to call him. I don't even know how to get back, and I have no way in the house.

"Hello Sir."

"Hi Thak. Do you think you can drive me back?"

"Of course sir. Would you like me to come find you? I am at the same location I dropped you off."

"Oh, you've been here the whole time? I'm sorry to keep you waiting. I will be right there."

Oh my God. I feel so bad. I had no idea he was going to wait around. Thank goodness I didn't just go off on my own. I wasted so much time just moping around the mall too.

Whew, I'm so out of shape.

"Take your time sir. No need to hurry. I'm at your disposal."

"No, I'm really sorry. I didn't think you would be here all this time."

I climbed in the car to feel instant relief from the scorching sun outside.

"Sir, would you like a sandwich? I have an extra."

"Eh, are you sure? Why don't you eat it?"

"I have already had mine. So you are welcome to have this one. If not, it will just go to waste."

"Oh, sure I'll have it then. Thank you. I haven't even noticed it's past lunch time."

I'm so hungry, I can eat a horse right now. How did he know?

"You are welcome. Any luck with your phone sir?"

"No, the phone apparently overheated for some reason. So, now I will have to buy a new phone on Monday among the many other things I need to do."

"Well, you can use the phone I gave you as long as you need. Is there anywhere else you want to go?"

"No. I think I just want to find a hole and just bury myself."

"Sir, I am not good with comforting words, but why don't you sit back and drink this."

"What is this?"

"It's nom yen. Some call it pink milk. It's my favorite."

"Oh, I guess I'll have to try it. Mmm, it's very sweet and refreshing."

"Glad you like it sir."
