Charlotte and Jade were walking to the cafeteria after their biology class.

*cough, cough*

"Are you okay Char?"

"Yeah, it's just some allergies" Charlotte lied.

Charlotte hasn't been feeling well for the past 2 days and it's actually getting worse. She tried to hide it from her friends and family because her parents are going to DC to attend some meeting for the weekend.

They got their food and sat at their usual table.

"Hey guys" Owen and Jace joined them.

"Hey," Jade said and went back to eating her food while Charlotte kept staring at her sandwich since she didn't feel like eating it.

"Something wrong angel?" Jace inquired her with concern written all over his face.

"Nothing Jace" she gave him a weak smile.

"Okay, something is surely wrong"

"N...nothing Jace" Charlotte insisted.

Jace squinted his eyes at her while she gave him a wide smile. Jace huffed.

"Okay, remember we should get started at 7 tomorrow morning," He said eating his sandwich.

"Yeah, I..." Charlotte sneezed before she could finish the sentence.

"You okay Char?" Owen asked her.

"Yeah, it's just allergies that's all" Charlotte replied casually.

"Are you sure, angel?" Jace asked her to be certain.

"Yes Jace, don't worry, I am fine"

Charlotte didn't want to tell him that she felt like shit and that she has a pounding headache because Jace specifically requested his coach to give him the weekend off from practice so that they could go on their date. Also, after what happened the other day in her room, she felt bad and she wanted to make it up to him.

After school, Charlotte went home and took rest hoping she would be better by the next morning.

Next Morning

Charlotte's parents left for their meeting the previous night after she convinced them that she was not ill. Jace knocked on the door. Charlotte dragged herself up and went downstairs to open the door.

"Morning ang.....el?" Jace's voice changed from excited to one of concern.

"Sorry Jace, give me 10 minutes, I will..." Charlotte turned to go to her room to get dressed but Jace stopped her.

"Wait, angel, are you sick?"

"N....no Jace," Charlotte said looking down.

Jace put his hand on her forehead and she was burning up.

"Angel, you have a fever," Jace said in a soft voice.

"N...no, I don't" Charlotte replied stubbornly.

Jace huffed, "Okay angel, come on, you need to take rest"

"But our date..." Charlotte began.

"It can wait, angel, you being healthy is what matters right now." Jace carried her upstairs as she was very weak to walk

He put her on the bed but she immediately leaped off her bed and darted for the bathroom. Jace followed her into the bathroom and found her bent over the toilet seat, throwing up. Jace went over and rubbed her back gently and soothingly.
