"Jace Lee Norman! Get your lazy butt off that couch right now and come eat breakfast or so help me god I'll......" Lena yelled exasperated by her son's behavior.
"I'm coming, mom. Geez," Jace groaned as he switched off the TV and stomped into the dining room as he plopped himself down in the chair.
"Jace, you should talk to her son. We can't see you like this" Jack said worried by his son's apathetic demeanor.
Jace just sighed as he shook his head, "No dad, I can't. I shouldn't" he replied adamantly.
"Son, you can't keep doing this to yourself. Do you even realize how unkempt you look right now!?" Jack reprimanded him.
"Yes baby, you haven't been yourself ever since you came back to New York" Lena chimed in equally worried.
"Sorry guys, I'll do better" Jace mumbled as he quietly ate his breakfast while Jack and Lena exchanged worried looks.
After breakfast
"Okay baby, listen carefully, the maid's out of town, and your dad and I have a meeting but we'll be back by noon so don't you do anything stupid okay?" Lena said strictly causing Jace to roll his eyes.
"Mom, I'm not a kid anymore. I can handle myself" he retorted offended.
"Mhmm no matter how old you are, you'll always be my baby," Lena said as she kissed his forehead and left.
Jace just sighed and went back to the couch and switched the TV back on. He watched the reruns of his favorite TV show "The Office" for a while as his mind drifted off to his angel.
"Shut up Jace! She's not your angel anymore!" Jace reminded himself.
Jace was drowning in inner melancholy and wistfulness thinking about her. He felt broken on the inside as he missed her so fucking much. There were no words to describe his anguish as unruly tears rolled down his face.
"Stop crying, Jace! You did this to yourself and now you're going to deal with the consequences!" he scolded himself.
He was pulled out of his deep thoughts when his phone rang. He looked at the caller id and that brought more tears.
Charlotte has been calling him non-stop for the past two days, ever since she received his letter. She has also been sending him numerous texts begging him to talk to her but Jace didn't respond as he strongly felt that she was better off without him in her life.
He contemplated for a whole minute before cutting the call when the doorbell rang. He dried his tears with the back of his hand as he went to see who it was at the door.
He guessed it was Henry trying to get him to go to some party like always. Thinking like that, Jace opened the door to reveal a fuming Charlotte as his eyes grew big in shock.
"Ang.....Ms. Page!?" Jace corrected himself causing Charlotte to become infuriated.
He called her by her last name!? He fucking called her by her last name!?
She simply pushed him aside as she walked in. Jace sighed as he closed the door and turned to her.
"H...how are you, Ms. Page? How are your parents?" Jace inquired with a soft smile.
"What the fuck is wrong with you Norman!? Why the fuck are you calling me like that!?" Charlotte demanded getting in his face.
Jace gulped seeing her ire, "I'm sorry Ms. Page, I didn't mean to offend you....."
"OFFEND ME!? YOU FUCKING BROKE MY HEART, YOU STUPID IDIOT! WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING OF YOURSELF DUMBASS!?" she bellowed furiously.
"Please calm down Ms. Page. Can I offer you a drink?" Jace asked in the most polite voice.
