What the hell?!

All-day, Charlotte has been hearing people talking about Jace Norman's new girlfriend. She just didn't understand why people are obsessed with other people's lives so much.

She ignored those conversations altogether and ate lunch alone. Jade invited her to sit with them but Charlotte wanted to avoid Jace at all costs and so denied her request.

After lunch, Charlotte went to the library to get a book. When she returned, students were whispering among themselves. Charlotte heard her name being whispered in one of the conversations and got curious.

When she walked to her locker, people were giving her weird looks. Most of the girls were giving her death glares while the others were looking at her as if she is some kind of a celebrity come to visit their school.

She took out her books from the locker and went to class. The last period was English and when she went in Bella was already there.

"Hey, Bella" Charlotte greeted her with a friendly smile.

"Hi, Charlotte" Bella spoke in a sad tone.

"What happened Bella? Did that Jace do anything again?" Charlotte asked concerned.

"You don't have to be nice to me Charlotte, I know the truth." Bella said sarcastically.

"What?" Charlotte asked puzzled.

"I said I know that truth. So stop pretending okay." Bella said anger rising in her voice.

"What truth?" Charlotte asked her confused as to what she was talking about.

"I know about you and Jace," she said with a lone tear rolling down her cheek.

"I don't underst....." Charlotte began but Bella cut her off.

"Stop it Charlotte, I know that you and Jace are dating. Not just me, the whole school knows" Bella shouted angrily.

Charlotte was in shock that she didn't even realize the teacher entering the class.

"Ms. Page? Ms. Page?" the teacher called her waving her hand in front of her face.

Charlotte came out of her shock.

"Uh uhm sorry ma'am, can I be excused?" Charlotte asked.

"But the class hasn't even started yet" Mrs. Rogers pointed out.

"Please, Mrs. Rogers" Charlotte requested her.

"Okay but you better come back in 10 minutes," she said.

"Thank you, Mrs. Rogers" Charlotte ran out.

She went to the girls' bathroom and closed the door behind her. She began to hyperventilate. Tears started to fall from the corner of her eyes. She wiped them with a tissue and sat on the floor trying to wrap her mind around the fact that the whole school thinks that she and Jace are dating.

How did this even happen? How could he do this to her?

She felt instant fury towards Jace and decided to make him pay for what he did. She decided to confront him and give him a severe warning to stay the hell away from her.

She composed herself letting a few more tears fall before going back to class. She searched for Jace because she knew he has the same class as her but he was nowhere to be seen.

In the meantime, Jace went to meet Coach Barnes.

"Excuse me sir" Jace knocked on his door.

"Come in," Mr. Barnes said angrily.

Jace knew he was in trouble and decided to play it cool because Mr. Barnes is like a family friend of theirs but at school, they prefer staying strictly professional.
