"But that's not fair!" Lucy stomped her foot childishly as Jordan rolled his eyes.

"I don't care if it's fair! It's my cake so I get to eat the last slice!"

Charlotte sighed and leaned back on her chair. They were sitting in Jordan's apartment and Lucy and him were arguing over the last slice of cake, which Jordan bought for no particular reason.

"I know what would make this fair," Charlotte cut in. They both looked at her expectantly. "If I got the last slice!"

Jordan and Lucy both rolled their eyes, turning back to their argument about the cake, obviously neither of them willing to let Charlotte have it.

She frowned and leaned back in her chair, kicking her feet back. The front door opened, attracting all of their attention. Lucas walked in, giving all of them a once over before continuing to his bedroom.

Charlotte furrowed her eyebrows at his rudeness. Although she didn't know him well she would have at least liked him to show some kind of acknowledgment. Jordan shrugged and picked up the last slice before running to the couch to sit beside Chloe.

An evil laugh came out of his mouth and Charlotte gave him a strange look. He smirked at her as he ate the full slice in one go, ignoring Lucy yelling profanities at him.

After a couple of hours Jordan continued to rummage through his fridge and groaned loudly when he couldn't find anything. "I'm going to the store to get some decent food, does anyone wanna come?"

Lucy jumped at the chance to stretch her legs however Charlotte was very close to falling asleep on the couch. She shook her head and buried her face into her pillow, loving the feeling of it. The silky essence of it rubbed against her cheeks and her head seemed to sink into the pillow, something that she loved.

She barely even noticed the two of them leave as she kept her eyes closed, relaxing.

A door opening made her more alert as she knew that it would be Lucas, and she suddenly felt very uncomfortable sitting in his apartment by herself. He seemingly thought that he was alone as he walked through the apartment with a grumpy face.

She quickly dived back into the couch, pretending to be asleep so that she could avoid an awkward encounter with the young man. As his footsteps neared, the hammering of her heart in her head became louder.

She heard him sigh gently before he went silent for a few minutes, until he suddenly spoke up. "Yeah dude, why is she here?"

Her ears perked up, her nosiness getting the better of her. She could faintly make out a voice on the other end of the line and she wished she could hear who it was, considering they were obviously talking about her.

"Well get rid of her."

She frowned, although she tried not to make it obvious as she was still meant to be 'sleeping'.'

A pang of annoyance hit her in her chest, Lucas didn't even know her and he was talking trash about her, like how rude was he?

She pretended to wake up and stretched, slowly opening her eyes. Her gaze immediately landed on the man standing in front of her with a frown.

"Where's your friends gone?" His voice was tired and angry, and she knew she wasn't welcome.

"They went to the shop, they should be back soon."

He gave a curt nod before slowly sitting on the couch beside her. His body was straight and his shoulders tense as he flicked through channels on the tv, effectively ignoring her presence.
